Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the one according to his great mercy begot us into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible, unstained, and unfading kept in heaven for you, that in the power of God, guarded through faith, to the extent of salvation ready to be revealed in the last time (1 Peter 1:3-4).
God begot us into a living hope, according to His great mercy, through his great love, when we were dead in our trespasses and sin, he made us alive together in Christ, by grace we have been saved, and raised us and seated us in the heavenlies in Christ (Ephesians 2: 4-6). Christ came to give us the authority or right to become children of God, begotten, coming into existence, "born not from blood, nor from fleshly will, nor husbands will, rather from God" (John 1:12-13). We who have placed our hope in Christ exist the praise of His glory (Ephesians 1:9-12). Paul prays we would be enlightened to the hope of our calling, the glorious inheritance among the saints, and the power available to us as believers.... begot us into a living hope... to an inheritance incorruptible, unstained, and unfading kept in heaven for you (1 Peter 1:3-4).
Paul prays that we would be enlightened to what are the riches of his glorious inheritance among the saints. It is an inheritance incorruptible, as we will be free from this corruptible body. The Spirit tells us this, groaning inwardly in us awaiting the redemption of the body, our glorious freedom as children of God, for the world was subjected to futility by God in hope... and in this hope, we are being saved. (Romans 18-25) It is an inheritance unstained, no longer will we reside in a world stained by sin and evil. What great love the Father has shown us, that we are called children of God and that one day we will be like him, in this hope, we purify ourselves as he is pure; practicing pure religion unstained from this world. (1 John 3:3, James 1:27). It is an inheritance unfading, undying, eternal, "where death is your victory? where death is your sting? the sting of death is sin, and the power of sin the law, but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ" (1 Corinthians 15:55-57).
... begot us into a living hope... to an inheritance... that in the power of God, guarded through faith, to the extent of salvation at hand revealed in the lowest time (1 Peter 1:3-4).
Paul prays that we have a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Jesus, that the eyes of our hearts are enlightened to know (1) the hope of our calling, (2) what are the riches of his glorious inheritance among the saints, (3) what is the incomparable greatness of his power available to us who believe according to the exercise of his mighty strength, that effective in Christ raising him from the dead... (Ephesians 1:16-20). The word lowest ἔσχατος (eschatos) also means last. Salvation is revealed now in our lowest plight and is ready to be revealed in the last time. We are saved, chosen, predestined for adoption, begotten into a living hope, to an inheritance, that in the power of God, guarded through faith, preserving our souls unstained from the world, to a salvation ready to be revealed.
