Wisdom and Faith

Now, if any of you lacks wisdom ask God the one giving generously to all and not asking with reproach and it will be given him. Now, ask in faith without thoroughly judging for the one thoroughly judging is like a sea wave driven by the wind and tossed about . (James 1:5-6) Ask God for wisdom, without judging according to circumstances of this world but ask with the right mindset, in faith believing it will be done. Now picture what is happening here, there is a trial going on, endurance and wisdom are needed, and to have wisdom so to endure one must ask of God and ask in faith. This intrinsically connects receiving the wisdom of God with faith in overcoming the trial. Maturity, James writes is the outcome of the work of endurance and the fruit of maturity is wholeness, lacking in nothing (James 1:2-5).  Maturity produces a "lacking in nothing," thus the statement "if any of you lacks wisdom ask God" ties maturity to receiving wisdom from God. Certainly not a wisdo...

Wisdom From Above

yes! the wisdom from above exists first before all things pure, then next peaceable, reasonable, easily persuades, filled with mercy and profitable fruit, impartial and real . * There is so much in this verse so let's begin with defining that wisdom comes in Christ, " in whom exists hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. I tell you this so that no one may deceive you by fine-sounding arguments ." *  Wisdom comes from above, down came Christ who became for us wisdom from above. *  How we begin to get wisdom is important and there is a difference between that of the old covenant and of the new. In the new God doesn't give us a spirit of fear but of power, agape love, and a sound mind. *  In the old fear was the beginning of wisdom and understanding, as the Law had power through the fear of punishment, but in the new we are born from above and are given " a Spirit of wisdom and revelation in knowing him ." *  Jesus is the final authority and sourc...

Wisdom of God

Yet to them, the one called both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power and wisdom of God . * Jesus is wisdom from God, "now you exist of him in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification and redemption." *  The Jews demanded signs, yet when Jesus showed them many signs they asked for more signs. Moses fed millions in the wilderness what is feeding five thousand? The Greeks strive for wisdom, Paul would debate with many of these. *  But since the world did not know God through wisdom God took pleasure through the preaching of the gospel to save those who believe. *  God chose something foolish, but "the foolishness of God exists wiser than men and the weakness of God stronger than that of men." *  It is the nature of grace that we boast in Christ, for in Him is power and wisdom of God. so that your faith doesn't exist in the wisdom of men but in the power of God . * Our faith is according to grace that we boast...

Jesus, Wisdom from God

But you exist of Him in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God, and these; righteousness and sanctification and redemption . * We exist "in Christ" who has become to us wisdom of God. Through a dispensation of God's grace through Christ God established a New Testament, a will that required the death of His Son, a New Covenant established by the blood of Christ. Christ is Head of the Church where two become one, those under the Mosaic Law and those not, who listen to His voice, and through which the manifold wisdom of God is manifested, " according to the eternal purpose accomplished in Christ Jesus, our Lord, in whom we have boldness and confident access through faith in Him . *  We exist in Jesus, Wisdom from God. he taught them in their synagogue, consequently they were astonished and said, where did this man get such wisdom and miraculous powers ? * The wisdom of Jesus and the wisdom of the religious leaders often contradicted each other.  For e...
