Treasure In Jars of Clay

But we have this treasure in jars of clay so that the surpassing power belongs to God and not from us.*

For by grace are we saved through faith, not of works lest we boast. This is the service of grace, so that the power that throws us beyond the weakness of the flesh, comes from God so that we do not boast. His grace is sufficient for it is His power perfecting us in this weakness, in this of jar of clay in which sin dwells and evil is near. For out of darkness the light has shined forth on our hearts and life and light is within us, treasure in jars of clay.

In Him was life and that life existed the Light of men and the light shines in darkness, the darkness not laying hold of it.*

There was a man who came to bear testimony about the light so that they might believe in the light,  he testified that the true light which enlightens all men was coming into the world. The Light came in darkness, to us to give us light and life and the right to become children of God, to those believing in Him. This is the light that shines forth from us, "For it is out of darkness light will shine, which floods our hearts with light of the glorious knowledge of God in the face of Christ."* His light exists in us, this is the treasure though we exist in jars of clay. We are jars of clay, pressed from all sides, but not crushed. Emptied but not utterly at loss. Thrown about, but not abandoned. Cast down but not broken...

always carrying about in the body, the putting to death of Jesus so that the life of Jesus is brought to Light, brought to light in our bodies.*

Because Jesus ascended into heaven we can hold fast to our confession, having a high priest who sympathizes with our weakness, therefore let us approach the throne of grace and receive grace and mercy as needed.* You think God doesn't know of this weakness of the flesh? Is that not why the Law did not perfect and mature man to live to His righteous standards because of the weakness of the flesh? This is why Jesus condemns sin in the flesh and not man. This jar of clay will die fulfilling the wage of sin, but the gift of God is eternal life for, though the body dies, we are raised into newness of Life. And this is happening now, the light of the world in us bringing life to us in this mortal body. And do you not think Jesus experienced such weakness living in the flesh though he was without sin? And do you not think this is why His grace is sufficient for us as His power is perfecting us in this weakness?

Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears let him hear. The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field which a man finds covered up and in joy goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.*

You can't buy the treasures of heaven with earthly money, so do not be lead astray. The treasure in this story lies in a field covered. We have a heavenly treasure in a jar of clay. The jar of clay or the body is the field in which the treasure lies. The body is a temple but also sin dwells there, it is a jar of clay that holds treasure. He who has hears let him hear; the body in which sin dwells we too must forsake, giving all, presenting it a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God. Then we will uncover the light and life which will shine like a light to the world. We must forsake the body of sin with its desires, and enter our reasonable service and our high calling. God's vessel is prepared beforehand for good works, so that the surpassing power belongs to God and not from us. Think about it, if the vessel is broken how can it hold water to give to others? This is what God planned for us in Christ, to prosper and give us a hope and a future. What you have inside you leads you into consecration in truth, in which the vessel is prepared for use, and the outcome of such is Life. Light shines forth and living water overflows from jars of clay. We have this treasure in jars of clay so that the surpassing power belongs to God and not from us.*

The New Living Way

The New Living Way "... Now, at the present released from the Law, having died in that which held us captive, so that we serve in newness of Spirit and not the old written code " -- Romans 7:16 Paul states that we are now united to Christ in his death and also raised with him into newness of life. What held them captive was sin but also the Law, it was a guardian until the appointed time God would send a Messiah (see School Master ). Paul uses the metaphor of marriage to describe how we are released from the Law; like a wife whose husband dies, now she is released from the Law and can marry another, so also have we died with Christ and are released from the Law and bound to Christ in a new covenant. The purpose of this is that we live in a new living way of the Spirit and not fleshly through the old written code or Mosaic Law. " So then brothers, you also have died to the Law through the body of Christ to the extent you exist by creation of another, the one raising you f...

New Testament Growth in Christ: From Foundation to Fullness

New Testament Growth in Christ: From Foundation to Fullness The New Testament presents a vibrant and multifaceted picture of spiritual growth, not as a static event but as a dynamic, lifelong journey for the believer. This journey, with emphasis on a strong foundation, progresses through a transformative process of maturity forged by endurance, ultimately aiming for the profound goal of experiencing the "fullness of God in Christ." The Foundation: A New Creation The inception of growth in Christ is marked by a radical spiritual new birth, a foundational shift that defines the Christian experience. It is not merely a moral reformation, but a divine act of creation. The apostle Paul declares this truth in 2 Corinthians 5:17 : " Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come ." This new creation is initiated by faith in Jesus Christ, where believers are justified and reconciled to God through His sacrifice. ...

Putting On the New Self

Putting On the New Self Theme: Spiritual Growth & Identity in Christ Key Scripture: “And to put on the new man, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.” — Ephesians 4:24 (ESV) 🕊️ Day’s Reflection The Christian journey is not about becoming a better version of our old selves. It is about walking in The New Living Way , putting on the new man created in the likeness of God. Scripture calls us to put on the new man , and this call is not symbolic or abstract. It is a command grounded in spiritual truth and lived out in daily walking as Christ walked. 📜 Scripture for Meditation 2 Corinthians 5:17 (ESV) “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” Ephesians 4:22–24 (ESV) “To put off your old man, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new man, created after the likeness of...
