Through that freely given us, but he honorable also promising so that through this very thing, we become free from the corruption in the world, in sinful desires, becoming a partaker of God's divine nature.*
Resurrection Power
It is an amazing verse, and in context that freely given to us is the power to be free from the slavery of sin, which exists in the old sinful nature, "His divine power freely given to us all, that for the benefit of life and godliness, through the knowledge of the one calling us, his own glory and might."* The power lies in the spiritual blessing we have received from the riches of His grace and glory, that of adoption.* To those who receive him, along with divine favor, grace, he has given us of his divine nature, in that we are born of God, he has given "the power to become children of God, the one believing in his name."* This power given, is how his children overcome sin, in that we have become a partaker of God's divine nature.*
For this very reason, now, bring into play, with all enthusiasm in your faith add excellence, in upon excellence, knowledge, in upon knowledge, strength...*
We are strengthened "... through the knowledge of the one calling us..."* John writes of a promise, the one born of God will not continue in sin. Paul writes that God is committed to work out all things for our good. It is he who gives us the strength and the will. He is honorable also committed to see this through, and it is your true nature, he would have never chosen and adopted you to begin with. Partaking of God's divine nature you are no longer defined by sin, you are no longer a slave to the old man, the sinful nature, you are of God's nature, thus you are indebted to live to godliness, you new nature.
For this very reason, now, bring into play, with all enthusiasm in your faith add excellence, in upon excellence, knowledge, in upon knowledge, strength...*

now, thanks to God, you existing of sin, listened, yea out of the heart, to the type of teaching which you committed, now, freed from sin, a servant of righteousness.*
We see the command that matters to a sinner is to believe, thus believing one becomes obedient "you existing of sin, listened... to the type of teaching which you committed...becoming a partaker of God's divine nature." Is there any further obedience needed? Truly, we are freely given all that we need to live free. Though a child of God, Paul writes of the issue of sin in our flesh that is against our true nature, "For I delight in God's laws in my inner being..."* and through sin evil wages war against our soul, "now I see a different rule in that my member, waging war against the rule of my mind and captivating to the the law of sin, dwelling in my members..."*
now, not I producing it but sin living in me.*
The child of God can sin, but it is against his true nature, as he is now a partaker of God's divine nature, thus we see to be against your true nature is to be in a wretched state. "... we become free from the corruption in the world, in sinful desires, becoming a partaker of God's divine nature."*
A partaker is one who is a partner, participant, one who joins in with another, in this we see the idea of being bound in a new covenant in Christ, one established in his blood and we see the idea of fellowship, if we are partakers we have fellowship with Him, in his words, and the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin.

so that according to the riches of his glory, given you, to grow strong, power through his Spirit in your inner being.*
God has given us all the power for such a purpose of growing strong, to be strengthened, to be rendered strong, "His divine power freely given to us all, that for the benefit of life and godliness," Freedom in Christ not only is power to be free from sin but freedom encompasses growth, and causes to take place; life and godliness. Sin is against our true nature and the Spirit of Life in us frees us from the law of sin and death in our flesh.
... he honorable also promising so that through this very thing, we become free...*
He has freely given us all we need, and he is committed to see we are free. This is amazing truth, when we believed we committed, our will has become as his, partakers, and now the burden is on His shoulders. He is honorable (of his word) also promising (committed to favor or blessing). Now, what is the promise and blessing he has now committed to? which can be said another way in that we will rule over sin under grace. He is committed to this very thing, to grow us, to strengthen us, to bring about our freedom, "... we become free from the corruption in the world, in sinful desires, becoming a partaker of God's divine nature.* Be true, be excellent, be strong.
