Crown of Life

Blessed is the man who endures testing, for that he becomes proven receiving the crown of Life that promised those loving him.*

Being proven is how a young person becomes a man, think of it as a rite to manhood or maturity within the Kingdom Of God. The process of proving includes testing, or refining, Jesus being the refiners fire and the fullers soap. This process is called perfection, it's purpose is that we become to like Christ, to the full measure of the stature of Christ, which is the end goal of the Church, a pure bride, reaching perfection. The process is perfecting, that we are proven mature, and the outcome is Life, receiving the crown of Life. There is a way unto Life.

you have the words of eternal life and we believe and know that you are the Holy One of God.*

Before we look more at proving to receive the crown of life it is important to know how to obtain Life. How does one obtain eternal Life? One must believe as Peter, "you have the words of eternal life and we believe and know that you are the Holy One of God."* And as John who wrote whom they saw, heard, and touched concerning the Word of Life, is Eternal Life, "and this one life revealed and seen and witness and proclaim to you, the one Eternal Life."* Do you see salvation? do you see the way to Life? Through a cross, a death, a new will, testament, covenant was established. Through the blood of the Lamb an everlasting atonement for sin was made. Through the Word that became flesh, Eternal Life was given to men. Life is not in death, and not in blood but in the Word of God, Jesus. All those who behold the Son, who hear his words and believe will have eternal Life. These who have eternal life feed on food that endures unto everlasting life.

But now freed from sin and devoted to God, the fruit you have towards sanctification, and now the end obtained, eternal life. F
or the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal Life in Christ Jesus our Lord.*

Why would fruit need to lead me toward sanctification if it was already accomplished? And why would the outcome of sanctification be eternal life? how do you explain which one came first, life or sanctification? There has been this idea in the Church of eternal life being that which we will receive when we "go to heaven," thus the crown of life would obtained in heaven. The rue we see is that Life came when we believed in Jesus. If the fruit you get leads to sanctification which outcome is Life and to bear fruit one must abide in the Vine and the Vine is Jesus, and Jesus is the Word of God then Life is in the word, Jesus.

All now who competes exercises power of all, they di it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable one.*

Possibly, many have believed that the crown of life is given in heaven because they have not received the crown of life here on earth. In Greece a crown was conferred upon a victor in the public games. A crown of Life is conferred on those who are victorious.

you know the testing of your faith produces endurance, and also  esteem endurance, esteem its work perfecting, so that you exist perfected and whole, lacking in nothing. Now, if any lacks in wisdom, ask God...*

What is the testing of your faith? the testing is to produce a doer and not a hearer only, its goal is Life. The testing is that you look intently into truth, beholding the Son of God perfecter of faith, not turning away but existing one who endures. In such is the law of liberty and it is agape love perfecting, not fear. If you don't understand ask for such wisdom from God. Think highly of endurance as it is perfecting you, "esteem its work perfecting, so that you exist perfected and whole."
Purify your souls by hearkening the truth to the extent of a real brotherly love. Agape love one another intensely from a pure heart, for you have not been brought forth of a perishable seed but imperishable, through the living and enduring Word of God.

Hearken is defined literary. to give heed or attention to what is said; listen.to purify, ceremonially cleanse. The principle, of Liberty, states that we are set free looking intently into the truth, which is Jesus, who is the Word of God. Looking intently or beholding Jesus and believing is the beginning of wisdom and understanding and it is how we grow or build our faith. In Jesus is all wisdom and understanding thus Paul prays that our eyes be enlightened in the knowledge of Him. When we are fully grown the outcome of purification of our souls, sanctification, is Life.

For you brothers were called to freedom; only not using your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through agape love serving one to another.*

Amazingly the sign of purification of the body which comes from looking intently into truth is a brotherly love, which is expressed by intensely loving and serving one another. This is what we see in the early Church but unfortunately not so today, we see outreach that sacrifices growth and love for brothers, this is not maturity in Christ and also speaks of self glory. Brotherly love expressed intently in agape love is how the world should know we are His disciples. This is what Jesus said should define us, our love for one another, not by how much we love the lost or how much we outreach to the community, not by evangelism, not by giving, not by sacrifice and serving, but how we agape love one another. get it?

=============

Jesus accomplished justification by his blood. We do communion in remembrance of his death, the body he gave and the blood he shed. Those in Christ have powerful testimony of the blood, of being forgiven, reconciled having peace with God. The cross is a sign unto salvation, like the bronze serpent Moses lifted up the wilderness, those who look upon Jesus lifted up will be saved. What is doing the saving? did the cross save? did the blood save? Some say that the power is in his death, they "i am the living bread

Some believe that sanctification happens when we first believed. It is true we are perfect in spirit, but we also have a soul. So we see the concept of salvation of the soul. Have you ever met someone who was perfect when they believed? so we see also salvation in perfection, or growing in maturity in Christ, also it is a transformation by the renewing of the mind. Once we existed sinful nature slaves to sin, but now we are partakers of God's divine nature, righteous, and indebted to our true nature, righteousness, "so now present that your member to rightness, leading to sanctification." Which member must I present a living sacrifice? the member which must be renewed, the one in which evil wars against bringing the child into captivity to sin; the carnal mind.

for the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal Life in Christ Jesus our Lord.*

therefore lay off all pollution and superabundant evil, receiving with meekness the implanted Word, that power to save your souls.*

In Christ there is no condemnation.

The Crucible

" The LORD will go forth like a warrior, He will arouse His zeal like a man of war. He will utter a shout, yes, He will raise a war cry. He will prevail against His enemies ." 1 He will arouse His zeal like a man of war. The definition of zeal is great energy or enthusiasm in pursuit of a cause or an objective. It is this time, to arouse zeal, shout, raise a war cry! As Paul writes, " In diligence not lagging in spirit being fervent serving the Lord ." 2 Our energy comes in the bond of brotherhood, formed in the crucible of combat. A crucible is place of severe test or trial, it is derived from Latin crucibulum ("night-lamp, metallurgic melting-pot"), and is a derivative of crux ("cross"). 3   The Bible speaks of the crucible of the cross for Jesus and for those who follow Him. The purpose of a soldier is two-fold; to accomplish the mission and to care for one another, as commanded. Each soldier has a role to play on a team. Without knowin...

One Grace

" moreover,  One, to each of us has been given Grace, according to the measure of the gift of Christ ." 1 Grace is a founding principle of Christianity. It is by Grace we grow into the fullness of Christ through faith; " to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ. " 2  Without Grace we will never reach this fullness. The weakness in the Law was it attempted to do it in the flesh, and people failed over and over, so God in His infinite wisdom, unveiled this mystery, through faith in Christ we have grace to boldly approach His throne of Grace, to receive grace and mercy as needed! This gift of Grace is properly understood by examining this verse in three parts;  moreover,  One Grace, to each of us has been given, according to the measure of the gift of Christ . First, we understand,  One   grace, it is easy to miss the  One,  and this verse is translated in different ways, I believe it says One Grace and i...

Those He Calls He Equips

Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, equip you with everything good that you may do his will, working in us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen . Hebrews 13:20-21 When God calls us he equips us, the God of Peace, the one who brought us from the dead by the blood of the Eternal Covenant, will equip you so to do his will. So in this concept of being equipped, we see the calling being irrevocable. "For it is God who works in you to Will and to act on behalf of his good pleasure" ( Philippians 2:13 ).  God called you, he's working in you equipping you to work on behalf of his good pleasure. "So that the man of God may be complete fully equipped for every good work." 2 Timothy 3:17 .  In Hebrews 12 we read God disciplines those he loves, so that we share in his holy character. As the scrip...

Word Of Life

"That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we looked upon and have touched with our hands, concerning the word of life. " 1 Jesus is the Word, He was in the beginning with God. 2  All things were made through Him. He is the Word and Light of men, the way, the path, "I am the way, the truth, and the life." 4  Thus we can say as the Psalmist, Jesus, the Word, is a Lamp unto my feet, and a Light unto my path. 5  "In him was life, and the life was the light of men." 6  Concerning the Word of Life, " the life was made manifest, and we have seen it, and testify to it and proclaim to you the eternal life ," Proclaimed, that our joy may be complete, a glory like that in the beginning, fellowship with the Father, with one another, and with his Son Jesus Christ, the Word of Life. "You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot...

The New Living Way

The New Living Way "... Now, at the present released from the Law, having died in that which held us captive, so that we serve in newness of Spirit and not the old written code " -- Romans 7:16 Paul states that we are now united to Christ in his death and also raised with him into newness of life. What held them captive was sin but also the Law, it was a guardian until the appointed time God would send a Messiah (see School Master ). Paul uses the metaphor of marriage to describe how we are released from the Law; like a wife whose husband dies, now she is released from the Law and can marry another, so also have we died with Christ and are released from the Law and bound to Christ in a new covenant. The purpose of this is that we live in a new living way of the Spirit and not fleshly through the old written code or Mosaic Law. " So then brothers, you also have died to the Law through the body of Christ to the extent you exist by creation of another, the one raising you f...

New Testament Growth in Christ: From Foundation to Fullness

New Testament Growth in Christ: From Foundation to Fullness The New Testament presents a vibrant and multifaceted picture of spiritual growth, not as a static event but as a dynamic, lifelong journey for the believer. This journey, with emphasis on a strong foundation, progresses through a transformative process of maturity forged by endurance, ultimately aiming for the profound goal of experiencing the "fullness of God in Christ." The Foundation: A New Creation The inception of growth in Christ is marked by a radical spiritual new birth, a foundational shift that defines the Christian experience. It is not merely a moral reformation, but a divine act of creation. The apostle Paul declares this truth in 2 Corinthians 5:17 : " Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come ." This new creation is initiated by faith in Jesus Christ, where believers are justified and reconciled to God through His sacrifice. ...

Truth All Around You

Stand then girding your loins in truth and putting on the breastplate of righteousness. * How can a soldier stand in battle if he has not been prepared, trained? How can a house stand if it has been built on sand? How can we stand against spiritual forces if we have not been prepared? Our battle is not against flesh and blood so in regards to such, what good is armor to a child or how can one stained with dirty clothes stand with a defiled conscious? To stand one must be prepared, be his workmanship, someone prepared beforehand to do battle. For this purpose you begin girding your loins in truth, putting on truth, wrapping truth all around you. ... girding your loins in truth... * The word girding is perizōnnymi (from peri "about, around" and zōnnymi "put on") meaning around about put on. Often gird your loins with truth is translated as putting on a belt. Surely we can say truth holds on the garments and confidence in truth is important in standing. I like th...

Putting On the New Self

Putting On the New Self Theme: Spiritual Growth & Identity in Christ Key Scripture: “And to put on the new man, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.” — Ephesians 4:24 (ESV) 🕊️ Day’s Reflection The Christian journey is not about becoming a better version of our old selves. It is about walking in The New Living Way , putting on the new man created in the likeness of God. Scripture calls us to put on the new man , and this call is not symbolic or abstract. It is a command grounded in spiritual truth and lived out in daily walking as Christ walked. 📜 Scripture for Meditation 2 Corinthians 5:17 (ESV) “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” Ephesians 4:22–24 (ESV) “To put off your old man, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new man, created after the likeness of...

First Fruit Offering

through his plan, he brought us forth through the word of truth to the extent we exist a kind of first fruit of all he created (James 1:18) There is so much in this verse that we could spend time on, like the phrase "through his plan." But we want to focus primarily on what it means for us to be the first fruit of all that God created. he has made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure which he purposed in Christ as a plan for the fullness of time (Ephesians 1:9) Paul writes one of the spiritual blessings that we receive in Christ is that God has made known to us the mystery of his will. A plan for fullness, in which he is working out according to what he purposed in Christ for our good, that we are being conformed to the image of Christ. We relate this to the phrase in our featured verse, "of all he created."  Now God's glory was manifested through creation since the beginning of time. However, God's purpose and plan that is bein...
