For YHWH is our God, he is our Judge, he is our Lawgiver, he is our King; he will save us.1
There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who are you that judge another?8 The LORD stands up to plead, and stands to judge the people.9 He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people.3 I will praise his name and declare; I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith. Hence, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.9
Judge not according to the appearance, but the righteous judgment judge.10 Here the word for righteous is dikaios, (derived from dikē, "right, judicial approval") properly, "approved by God"; righteous; "just in the eyes of God" The word for righteousness, dikaiosuné is derived from this word, properly it means righteousness of which God is the source or author, but practically: a divine righteousness. The word for judgment here is krisis, from krino to separate, distinguish, judge. To judge is to come to a choice (decision) by making a judgment. This implies that we are to separate, distinguish the facts And we are to rely on God, for only he is the Righteous Judge, he knows the heart.
To judge without facts is not righteous, it allows one to operate to sensuality, based upon feelings. As Christians we are to operate to His principles. Clearly defining these principles and rules is the responsibility of leaders. It is time to make the jump from good to great leadership. Great leadership focuses on setting the example, not on authority, it doesn't exalt authority over people to control them. It doesn't excuse away mistakes while at the same time putting heavy burdens on their people. It is not a winging it organization, making up things as they go, it is an effective organization as it understands the end of things in Christ. We can identify great leadership by how it operates; a focus on humility. operating to core values, and leading by example, clear indicators of maturity.
We judge poorly because we have not learned how to discern or have taken God out of the discerning process. A democracy without God's principles can not be a righteous one and therefore can not be a righteous judge of others. Such diplomacy will fail. Mercy triumphs judgement, the scriptures teach. And surely this is the example Jesus gave, For of the fullness of him have we all received, moreover grace upon grace.11 He is the author and perfecter of Faith.12 He is our source of righteousness. It was his obedience to the Father's work.14 that brought about the atonement of our transgression, our redemption.15 Redemption, a buying back, re-purchasing of what was previously lost.16 He gave himself to redeem us from every lawless deed and to purify for himself a people for his own possession, zealous for good deeds.17
