In him exists life and that life exists a light to men (John 1:4)
There was light that came into the world. He was born as a human, a baby in a manger. There came a man sent from God, he came to bear witness about the light, he was not the light rather he testified about the light, the true light that would enlighten all men, he was coming into the world.
He came into the world, which he created, and the world did not know him. The light suddenly came upon them in darkness, and darkness could not understand or comprehend it. He came to his own but his own did not receive him. But to those who did receive him, he gave them the authority to be born into the kingdom of God, not of human birth nor desire but of God.
The light came among men, and they gazed upon his glory, that of the only Son of God from the Father, full of grace and truth. For he was born among his own, under the Law given to Moses who was a servant in the house, but he was the son, the owner of the house, and they did not receive him.
He came as a light to the world, in the fullness of the Father, of grace and truth. They beheld the light, they heard him and laid their hands upon him, he who came into the world, the word of Life whose words exist eternal life. He came not to condemn the world but to save it, he came as a light, giving life, eternal life, to those who receive him.
They beheld the Light and proclaimed the message heard from him, God is light and if we have fellowship with him we walk in the light and the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin. If our fellowship is with him, indeed it is with the Father and we have fellowship with one another.
Because God said 'From darkness, the light will shine,' who has flooded our hearts with the Light of the glorious knowledge of God in the face of Jesus (2 Corinthians 4:6)
He came into the world, sent by the Father to give men life, the glorious light of life shown in his face. The word of life is proclaimed to us, and that life exists as a light to all peoples of all nations. The light overcomes darkness, so come to the light, you who are dearly loved.
In him exists life and that life exists as a light to men (John 1:4)
It is the time of Christmas, a time when the glorious light came into the world. The light will always shine through his life. May you look into his face, and may your hearts be flooded with the light, of the glorious knowledge of knowing Jesus.
