from far Yahweh has appeared to me, saying I have loved you with an everlasting love, for this reason I have drawn you with loving kindness-Jeremiah 31:3God's love is an everlasting love, to those he loves, he draws with loving kindness. 'I have chosen you, in love, before the creation of the world," (Ephesians 1:4), with a love that is ever-lasting.
As it is written, “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated” and "though they were not yet born and had done nothing either good or bad—in order that God's purpose of election might continue, not because of works but because of him who calls..." (Romans 9:11-13, ESV). God loved Jacob with an everlasting love. And In Christ, he calls those who were not his people "my people and the ones not loved, beloved" and they will be "called sons of the living God" (Romans 9:25-26).
(Romans 8:28)
Look closely at this verse in Greek, or the transliteration above, it says "the ones loved of God." God works out all things for the ones he loves. "And love consists in this: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as the atoning sacrifice for our sins" (1 John 4:10). God loved, "for God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son..." (John 3:16). And in return, "we love because he first loved us" (1 John 4:19). We don't conjure up love for God, it is given, experienced, known, revealed. And as we grow in knowledge of him, we experience more and more of his love.
so that you have strength to lay hold with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, both to know the love of Christ surpasses knowledge so that you may filled to all the fullness of God (Ephesian 3:18-19).
We can view agape love in this verse as foundational; width, height, depth, length, it is. I like to view it as infinite, without bounds, everlasting, eternal, surpassing and beyond our knowledge to comprehend it fully as mere humans. Ahh, but the promise is there, if we are strengthened we can lay hold of it now and be filled to the fullness of God. And one day we will experience consummation of our salvation but his love will never come to an end.
"Love never comes to an end..." (1 Corinthians 13:8).
I have come to believe it is everlasting love. Of faith, hope, and love, love is the greatest (1 Corinthians 13:13). Love is the way beyond comparison (1 Corinthians 12:31). "I have loved you with an everlasting love." A love that bears all, believes all, hopes all, and endures all (1 Corinthians 13:7). Here we see the kindness of God's everlasting love.
Now, God rich in mercy, through that his great love like as loving us, and when we existed dead in our trespasses and sin, made us alive together with Christ, by grace existing saved, and raised us and seated us in the heavenlies in Christ Jesus to demonstrate in the age coming, the incomparable riches of his grace in kindness to us in Christ Jesus. (Ephesians 2:4-7).
In the age coming, now and eternal, God loves us with an everlasting love to demonstrate his loving kindness to us. This kindness says, "for by grace through faith you have been saved, and this is not from yourself, of the gift of God" (Ephesians 2:8).
This kindness demonstrated through a love that endures all, as it is everlasting. This love bears all, "above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins" (1 Peter 4:8). This love believes all, "if we are faithless, he remains faithful— for he cannot deny himself" (2 Timothy 2:13). God is love.
for I am convinced that neither death nor life, nor angels, nor leaders, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing has power to separate us from the love of God... (Romans 8:38-39)
"What can separate us from the love of Christ?" If we experimentally know, have strength to grasp the depth and height of his love, what can separate us from it? God
does not give us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and
a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Love is the bond that leads to maturity, "there
is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do
with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love" (1
John 4:18). And the love of God will not separate us from him, it is everlasting.
what then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own son but delivered him up for us all, how will he not give us all? Who can bring a charge against God's elect? (Romans 8:31)
Can anyone or anything separate us from the love of God? Can anyone condemn us, though they bring a charge against us? "No, in all things we are winning a most glorious victory through the one loving us" (Romans 8:37). Can God's elect be separated from his love? no, because his love is everlasting, we have victory through him who loves us.
God chose us in love. His love in election is not fleeting, it is not conditional, else it would be based on works, like earning a wage, thus the elect would not be chosen according to grace. God's love is everlasting, thus he says he will never leave nor forsake us. What a privilege it is to be chosen and loved of God in Christ Jesus.
Yahweh has said to me, I have loved you with an everlasting love. For this reason he draws me with his loving kindness.
