...that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. And he put all things under his feet (Ephesians 1:20-22, ESV)
even when we were dead in our trespasses, he made us alive together with Christ, by grace you have been saved, and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, (Ephesians 2:5-6)
In Ephesians 1, Paul is praying that we would be enlightened to the power available to us as beleivers (Ephesians 1:16-22). This same power that he worked in Christ, raising him from the dead. Then in Ephesians 2, Paul writes God made us alive together with Christ, raising us up with him, and seating us with him in the heavenly places. Do you see the connection? Yes, the same power raising Jesus and seating Jesus in the heavenlies is available to us as believers also Jesus was raised above all rule and authority and every name, and we were raised and seated with Him in the heavenlies.
I do not cease to give thanks for you remembering you in my prayers pray for you that the God of our Lord Jesus, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him, having the eyes of your hearts enlightened...
We are seated with Christ who is above all rule and authority and whose name is above all names. This implies we have the same power, through the Holy Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead, and we have the same rule and authority seated with him in the heavenlies. Oh what power, what authority, what rule we have in the name of Jesus. This is what is available to us as a child of God. May God grant us to see what is available to us; the power, the riches of his glory, the hope, the inheritance, the authority to rule above all rule and authority in the name of Jesus.
When Jesus died God raised Him from the dead and placed him, seated him at his right hand far above all rule, authority, power, dominion, and above every name that is named. There is no doubt he is above all. But something amazing also occurred when we were made alive in Christ...
