far above all leaders and authorities and power and dominion and all names named not only in this age but also the age to come. (Ephesians 1:21)
The name of Jesus is far above all names. He is far above in the heavenlies, in which the devil is the prince of the air, the power energizing the sons of disobedience. He is far above all names in this age and the age to come. The name of Jesus is far above every name.Paul prays that the eyes of our hearts be enlightened so that we know what is the surpassing greatness of His power available to believers according to the exercise of his mighty strength which he accomplished in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at the right hand in the heavenly realm. (Ephesians 1:18-23) This is where Jesus sits, far above in the heavenlies and we as believers have immeasurable power available to us. Now, I have read this scripture many times and focused on the resurrection power and missed this part, that he is far above in rule and that his name is above all names. Being enlightened to the greatness of his power includes knowing this. Knowing he is far above in rule and that his name is above all names. Not a knowing like the ones who tried to evoke the name of Jesus over evil spirits and were beat up by them, no, but knowing of the surpassing greatness of His power and authority and name far above all.
for our struggle is not against flesh and blood but with leaders, with authorities, with cosmic rulers of this darkness, with spiritual forces of evil in the heavenlies. (Ephesians 6:12)
The armor and weapons we are given to fight spiritual forces are based upon the surpassing greatness of his power. The weapons of our warfare are not fleshly, but spiritual, "for walking about in the flesh, not accordingly fleshly. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal rather power of God for destroying strongholds, tearing down reasoning and every height raised against the knowledge of God and taking captive every thought to the obedience of Christ," (2 Corinthians 10:3-5) Notice, the weapons are against every "height raised against the knowledge of God." The name of Jesus is far above all names, in which he sits far above, in height, all leaders, authorities, cosmic rulers of this darkness, and spiritual forces of evil in the heavenlies.
for I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor leaders, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor deep-laid plans, nor any other created thing has the power to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:38)
Paul says this surpassing greatness of his power is available to all believers. I am seated with Jesus, in spirit, in the heavenlies. Think of this, the one above all leaders, authorities, powers, and names I am seated in the heavenlies with. God did not spare His own Son so that I am blessed with all spiritual blessings in the heavenlies and Jesus has all authority so who can be against me? what rulers, powers, height...? (Romans 8:31-39) His name and rule are above everyone of them. Can we have a head knowledge of this and not know of His power available to us?
therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above all names so that in the name of Jesus every knee will bow, in heaven and earth and infernal and all tongues will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of the Father. So then as always listening not only in my presence rather more in my absence work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God, the one working in you also to will and work on behalf of His good pleasure. (Philippians 2:10-13)
God exalted Him and made his name great, far above every name, according to the surpassing greatness of His power, which he worked in Christ raising him from the dead and seating him at his right hand superior to every leader, authority, power, and dominion and every name named not only in this age but the age to come and he placed all things under his feet and gave him head overall the Church which exists his body, the fullness of the one filling all in all. (Ephesians 1:19-23) "... the one who also ascended far above all the heavens, so that he fills all things." (Ephesians 4:10) He ascended and gave gifts to men so that through the church, the exercising of his great power is working to fill all things, "until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ," (Ephesians 4:13) Is this not why God placed Him far above all things and placed him head of the Church, to fill all in all?
