Eternal Perspective

He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man's heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end. (Ecclesiastes 3:11)

"as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal." (2 Corinthians 4:18) "For we know that if the tent that is our earthly home is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens."(2 Corinthians 5:1)

“If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, because of this the world hates you." (John 15:18-19)

"Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever." (1 John 2:15-17)

"All these people died in faith, without having received the things they were promised. However, they saw them and welcomed them from afar. And they acknowledged that they were strangers and exiles on the earth." (Hebrews 11:13) "Beloved, I urge you as sojourners and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul."(1 Peter 2:11)

"For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now. And not only the creation but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees?" (Romans 8:22-24)
"Not only that, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering works out endurance and endurance proof and proof hope..."(Romans 5:3)

"The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children." (Romans 8:16) "The creation waits in eager expectation for the revelation of the sons of God." (Romans 8:19) "For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God. For, “All flesh is like grass, and all its glory like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord stands forever.”" (1 Peter 1:23-25)

"Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope in grace, comfort your hearts and establish them in every good work and word." (2 Thessalonians 2:16-17) "Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses." (1 Timothy 6:12)

“The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls, who, on finding one pearl of great value, went and sold all that he had and bought it." (Matthew 13:44-46)

For our citizenship is in heaven, and from which we also await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, (Philippians 3:20)

We earnestly and truthfully pray that we love you, Jesus, and surrender our hearts to you, as best we can and we pray that you remove any deception that keeps us attached to anything in this world, kill in us any desires of the flesh, and any attempts to love this life, for what does it profit us to gain anything of this world and lose our souls. Let us see Jesus as treasure, and count everything else as loss in order to gain Christ.
