Now, if I do that not that I want, it is no longer I bringing it forth but sin dwelling in me.*
When we believe in Jesus we are born anew, of the Spirit. The Spirit pours out into our hearts the love of God, also whom cries Abba Father! This testimony is what we mean when we say it is a personal relationship, as it is real, having substance and evidence of things unseen. The Spirit testifies that we are adopted and is a pledge of inheritance until I receive possession, the redemption of my body. One day my salvation will be complete until then in this body dwells sin and the Spirit groans inwardly for my freedom, the release from this body of death. Sin is in me, in this body, but I am not define by sin, by the sinful nature of the flesh, I am of the Spirit, I am a child of God, defined by the being spiritual. I am dying in this body, but through the Spirit I will be resurrected in a new body. Though sin is in me, it is not I, I am being raised into newness of Life.
For I know nothing good dwells in me, that existing in my flesh, for I have the desire to that right. Now, I am unable to bring it forth, for I do not the good I want but evil not wanting, that I practice.*
When you believe in Jesus you are changed, given a new heart. God puts his Spirit in you. You delight inwardly in the laws of God but you will not know how to bring this forth. The fact you desire to do good and delight inwardly in the laws of God says you agree with the spiritual laws of God and have testimony that you are born of Spirit. It is no longer an issue of the will, but of transformation which renews the mind to be spiritual, thus one can bring forth that within, of the Spirit. Jesus gives us the Spirit thus power to overcome sin in the flesh. Jesus came to condemn sin in the flesh, he had to live an indestructible life through the Spirit, to be without sin a pure lamb of God a worthy payment for sin. "Making the one knowing no sin, sin in behalf of us, so that in Him we become the righteousness of God."* He took on the penalty of sin in the flesh. The penalty of sin was in His flesh, he died not a spiritual death being raised through the power of God. We participate in his death, also in His life.*
Now, at the present released from the Law, dying to that restraining, so that we serve in newness of Spirit and not written code.*
Many today serve to written codes, the telling sign is that the serving is really not about the people but the works. Or the process is put before people. The opposite is seen in that we become like Jesus were love for one another is foremost. In Christ I have been set free from sin, this is truth. But also as John writes if I say I am without sin I do not practice truth. In others words if the truth is in me, I know I live in a body in which sin dwells. As the Spirit of truth also is groaning in us for liberty as sons, I will understand I also exist in a body in which sin dwells and evil is near.* Paul writes of this principle and that evil wars against the carnal mind to bring the child of God captive to sin in this flesh. As a child I have a place in my Father's house, no longer am I defined by the sinful nature, I am born of His divine nature, a new creation in Christ Jesus. But I exist in this body of sin and death, therefore it is my reasonable service to present it a living sacrifice. It is a profound realization of truth, that as a new creation, spiritual who delights inwardly in God's laws, evil is near me and sin exists in my body. This is a weakness that Jesus knows of and sympathizes with us.* But also this weakness is overcome through Jesus. He condemns not man but sin in the flesh.
But to all who did receive Him, to them He gave the ability to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.*
In Christ I have entered the kingdom of God being born of the Spirit, a new creation that is made alive. What is made alive? My spirit, not my body it is dying, though the Spirit can give life to this mortal body, God set the limit to be around 120 years. Therefore we see death in two parts spirit and body. It is safe to say those not born anew are dead in spirit, soul, and body. In Christ we are made alive in Spirit. There is a law of the Spirit, that though we live in a body of sin and death the Spirit of life frees us from from the law of sin and death. The sin in me is condemned and I am of a new divine nature being raised into newness of Life. It is truly His workmanship prepared beforehand. This is the plan He has for me, and though sin dwells in my body He is worthy to bring forth the life dwelling in me.

This is why God sent His Son not to condemn me in this weakness but to condemn this weakness, sin in my body. The carnal, the body of sinful nature was the weakness that caused sin to abound under the Law but Jesus condemns sin in the flesh by giving us the power to become children of God. In other words Paul writes the Law was spiritual and we were carnal who could not submit to the laws of God. Think about this, man had not the power to obey God, thus the Law with its fear of punishment, and serving and sacrifice in the temple did not perfect man just as it doesn't today. So what did God do? condemn man in this weakness? No, he demonstrates His kindness to us, though we were weak, dead in trespasses and sin God made us alive in Christ. He gave us the power to become children.
He himself bore that our sin in His body on the tree so that dying to sin, living to righteousness, that His wounds heal.*
He released us from the Law, that adverse to us, and revealed a righteousness apart from works of the Law. A law of faith replacing the Mosaic Law, a righteousness by faith according to grace, which doesn't nullify the righteous requirement of the Law but fulfills them. How does this fulfill the Law? Through the Spirit, we were carnal and could not fulfill the Law because of the weakness but now existing spiritual we can fulfill the righteousness requirements of God. Such a fulfillment is not through living to the letter of the law, nor by principles of do not touch, taste, handle but the same power raising Christ is raising us into newness Life. Thus we will rule over sin though His power, not under the Law but under grace.
Now, God rich in mercy through his great love, though existing dead in the one trespass made us alive together in Christ, grace you exist saved!*
It is amazing what God has done, in that we are born of Spirit. This certainly is from the riches of His grace and how He demonstrates His kindness to us in Christ Jesus. Though we were dead in our trespasses he made us alive together in Christ. The Law judged and condemned but Christ came to give us life. And because we still live in this body in which sin dwells the judgement of sin is not done away with, though judgement of sin is according to sin in the flesh. I will die in body thus it is true that all will die in body because of the sin of one man Adam. And it is true that many will live because of the one man Jesus Christ. Did God go back on His word? Is not the righteous requirement of the law being fulfilled through those who walk according to the Spirit? And is not sin still judged and condemned in the flesh? thus his holiness is not in question. God is not mocked what is sown to the flesh reaps corruption and what is sown to the Spirit reaps life. It is true the wage of sin is death, for all men the penalty of death in the body is in place, but for the spiritual man, the gift is eternal life in Christ Jesus. This heavenly man will die in body, unless Jesus comes first, he will be resurrected in body.
For that the Law powerless, weak through the flesh, the one God sending that his Son in form of sinful flesh also concerning sin, condemned the sin in the flesh, so that the righteous requirement of the Law fulfilled in us, the ones walking, not walking according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.*
God's judgement of sin is accomplished, it is finished, Jesus being an atonement for those who receive and a propitiation for those who believe and not just our sin but the sin of the whole world. This means God is not angry and wrathful toward sin, He is demonstrating to the age His kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For those who do not believe they are condemned already, and since they are dead spiritually, and are of the flesh, of sin, sin is condemned in them. For the unbeliever there will be a day of wrath when all fleshly men stand in judgement for sin in the flesh, for what has been done in the body. They will be judged because they did not believe in the Son, so it is a matter of sin and condemnation of sin and being of flesh not Spirit thus the command is to believe. For the spiritual there is no condemnation for what is done in the flesh because we are not defined by sin in the flesh, we are spiritual. For the lost we are to persuade them in Christ, to believe, it is not our job to judge and condemn their sin, there is only one judge Christ. If the issue of sin is dealt with, and what is important is believing in Jesus then why do some sit in the seat of Moses, judging and condemning?
For in this way God loved the world, giving the only Son so that the ones believing in Him, not perishing but having eternal life. For God did not send His son into the world so to condemn the world but that the world might be saved through Him...*
The Law judged and condemned the trespass and sin but God did not send Jesus to condemn. When I believed the Spirit of Christ was given me but I am still dying in this body. I am made alive but I am dying in body and there is sin in this body therefore sin is judged and condemned in this body. There is sin that leads to spiritual death and there is sin that leads to death of the body. Because Adam sinned all will die in body, thus the judgement of this sin is still in effect. This is the weakness of the body, though the Law was good and holy it was weak because we existed carnal, in this flesh. And the carnal man can't obey the laws of God. So to condemn sin and not man, Jesus released us from that which was adverse to us, the handwriting in commandments, He nailed this to the cross. And He gives us power, the Spirit to dwell in us, power to rule over sin. This is the way that God loved us, he sent not His Son to condemn the world as the Law had judged but so that we might live, doing so by not condemning us but sin in the flesh and giving us the power to overcome. There is no condemnation in Christ, but to the one not believing in Him, these are condemned already because they do not believe in the name of the only begotten Son, the one sent to free us from death and the law of sin and death.
Now, may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely and may your spirit, soul, and body be preserved whole and blameless in the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls you is faithful, he will also do it.*
