The Gospel, In Power

Also this my words and this my message, not in persuasive words of wisdom but in manifestation of Spirit and power, so that your faith exists not in wisdom of men but in power of God.*

The power of God rests not in persuasive words of men, but in manifestation of Spirit and power of God. Persuasiveness of the gospel comes not in eloquent words of men but from God. The definition of faith includes firm persuasion, assurance, and firm proof. Therefore persuasiveness of the gospel is that which increases faith. Paul writes anything not of faith exists sin.* If we truly believed this then we would focus on what increases faith? and not sin? What is the purpose of the gospel being in the power of God? so that your faith exists not in wisdom of men but in power of God. The gospel is in the power of God so that faith exists in the power of God.

When I came to you brothers, I did not come according to prominence of speech neither wisdom, to announce to you the evidence of God.*

Faith exists evidence of things unseen.* This evidence rests in the persuasive power of the gospel. Paul writes he came to announce, proclaim this evidence of faith, which is from God and rests in wisdom of God. Paul writes for this purpose God chooses the lowly, despised things of this world so to confound the wise of this world. Surely, Paul could have established prominence, superiority, based upon a noble birth, lineage, of being a Pharisee, or of having great knowledge of the scriptures. But will such superiority give evidence to God or does it boast in men? will it increase faith and persuade people to believe? In fact how can one believe in creation even if they have not faith? "By faith we understand the universe was created by the word of God, not brought from anything observable."*  And will they believe based upon eloquent words of speech and wisdom of men? How can they believe if they do not hear the gospel in manifestation of God's power? It is the words of God that give evidence through power. And is not the one who proclaims, the preacher required to be mature in Faith and to manifest God's power? which says he has grown up into salvation, increased in Faith becoming mature? Which maturity is not displayed through superiority of speech and wisdom of men as Paul did not attempt to persuade men but through the power of God.

So that no one boasts in the presence of God. Now, you exist of Him in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God, and these, righteousness and sanctification and redemption.*

Jesus exists from God, wisdom.* Did you know despite popular opinion the roots of Christianity go far beyond the covenant of circumcision to the Jew, to the faith of Abraham? Even before, as Paul writes the gospel was preached to Abraham beforehand, and was a mystery that was hidden in God in the beginning. Does such knowledge increase your faith? Paul writes teaching such wisdom is for the mature.* What does that make the purpose of preaching of the gospel? for the establishment and increase of faith? The evidence, the power, rests in faith and Jesus. He is the pioneer of faith who is also called the author.* Believing is the work of God Jesus said.* And "no one can come to me unless the Father, the one sends me to him."* Faith comes in the persuasive power of God, wisdom from God who is Jesus. We all need increasing of our faith which comes through the words of Jesus, thus it is why Paul prays that we grow and increase in knowledge of the Son. Surely, faith doesn't come nor increase from persuasive words nor wisdom of men.

So the one faith from hearing, now, the one hearing through the words of Christ.*

Oh we pray that others will be persuaded by the words of Jesus and manifestation of God's power. We pray for words that increase faith. Thus we pray for the gospel, not in wisdom of men but in power of God.
