Seal of A Firm Foundation

Truly, the solid foundation of God makes to stand, having this seal; 'the Lord knows the ones existing his' and 'let all naming the name of the Lord fall from unrighteousness.'*

The word stand is ἵστημι (histēmi) meaning to make to stand, set, place. Stand is the opposite of fall , ἀφίστημι (aphistēmi) to put away, separate. Truly the solid foundation of the Lord makes one stand, and if the one is born of God, sin will fall away, he will not continue in sin. The seed of righteousness is planted in the child of God, it is his new nature and he is indebted to righteousness, the fruit he possesses will lead him into holiness, sin will fall away and he will be raised into newness of Life. This child becomes a vessel, an instrument of righteousness, His workmanship prepared beforehand for good works.

In a large house exists not only vessels of gold and silver but also of wood and earthen, also some for honor and those for dishonor...*

Jesus said it is not what goes in that defiles a person it is what comes from within. Paul writes, "the good human brings forth good out of his good treasure and the evil man brings forth evil out of his evil treasure."* The heart is comparable to a good tree or a bad tree, thus it bears good fruit or bad fruit. Whether the tree is good or bad has to do with the tree itself. If teaching in the kingdom of God is compared to a fig tree and there is no bearing of figs, no fruit, then there is no firm foundation, no solid roots for this tree. Jesus said, the kingdom of God is a like a farmer who plants grain and his competitors comes in at night to plant weeds among his grain. It is like the in-distinction of the wheat and tare until seed bearing time. It is like a net that catches both good and bad fish. And if the fish are like the wheat and tare, they might look the same on the outside though one is bad and one is good.

Therefore if some cleanse itself for this purpose, this existing vessels of honor, sanctified, useful to the master, prepared unto all good works.

What is a good tree, a good fish, a good vessel? One that is called, prepared beforehand by God, one that cleanses itself for this purpose. "For we are His workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works, whom God prepared beforehand so that we walk in them."* On the day of judgement, the bad tree will give an account of every word and deed.* Also Jesus warns us some will think they are good trees deserving of heaven because they did good works. But those born of God, the Lord knows who are his. And to be known by God carries this seal; these will fall away from unrighteousness. The seed of righteousness will grow up and bear fruit. "No one born of God does sin as God's seed abides in him and he can't sin because he is born of God."* It is a process of maturity, of growing up. Can you judge a child if only a mature plant bears fruit? God knows who are his.

He knows his children, and they know Him, having internal testimony of Spirit and blood. John writes a child knows the Father and that their sins are forgiven. I can not judge the child, as it is not fruit bearing season but I can judge the mature by their fruit. For those he knows it is true, they can not continue in sin as the child is indebted to righteousness and the anointing will lead them into holiness, their reasonable service. The reasonable service of the child of God is to present the body a living sacrifice unto holiness.*  It is the calling of the vessel of mercy, the vessel being prepared of God, to cleanse itself, to become holy. Holiness is the highest calling of the child of God.* High calling, reasonable service, cleansing, purification, holiness, consecration are all related to the same thing and can be seen as a vessel prepared beforehand for good works.

so that according to the riches of his glory, he grants to you, strength, power, through His Spirit in your inner being, Christ dwelling in your hearts through faith, rooted and grounded in love...*

The solid foundation of God makes the young person stand, to endure and be proven mature. the one abiding in the words of Jesus will bear fruit. Like the tree that endures, maturing to bear fruit, it has grown deep roots, rooted and grounded in love and faith. "He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers."* What does it mean to prosper in the kingdom of God? to grow up, to mature? The tree with a solid foundation will grow up and bear fruit, some thirty, some sixty, some hundred fold. These whom the Lord knows are His, he will establish, he will cause to stand, he is working out all things for their good, to be a vessel of honor. They are His workmanship prepared beforehand to do good works. The seal of a solid foundation, the one who believes in Him, out of his heart will flow living waters.* He will not continue in sin, he will fall away from unrighteousness and will stand, bearing fruit of righteousness, the good works of the one prepared beforehand.
