Wisdom of God

Yet to them, the one called both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power and wisdom of God.*

Jesus is wisdom from God, "now you exist of him in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification and redemption."* The Jews demanded signs, yet when Jesus showed them many signs they asked for more signs. Moses fed millions in the wilderness what is feeding five thousand? The Greeks strive for wisdom, Paul would debate with many of these.* But since the world did not know God through wisdom God took pleasure through the preaching of the gospel to save those who believe.* God chose something foolish, but "the foolishness of God exists wiser than men and the weakness of God stronger than that of men."* It is the nature of grace that we boast in Christ, for in Him is power and wisdom of God.

so that your faith doesn't exist in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.*

Our faith is according to grace that we boast not in our own strength nor in our own wisdom. Some do not understand grace and call such foolishness, but such is wisdom from God, to find His grace is sufficient as His power is being perfected in us. Faith exists in the power of God, Jesus being the author and perfecter of faith, and power is in the Holy Spirit raising us up into newness of Life. Abundant grace, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption we receive through the wisdom of God through knowledge of the Son. If we could boast in our works then it would be like earning a wage, but it is according to grace thus in Christ we boast, the wisdom of God. All others who foresaw into this mystery were counted righteous by faith, those who heard the gospel and believed, including Abraham, who saw God give his Son as a sacrifice for sin. Including Abel who was not justified because he gave a "first fruit" offering of his best but because he foresaw into this mystery, the glory hidden in the beginning to be revealed in the present age, the "first born" spotless Lamb of God, and believing Abel was counted righteous.

Rather, we speak the wisdom of God, the one hidden in mystery and that God had predestined before the ages for our glory.*

The wisdom of God was hidden in a mystery. Paul writes the plan for redemption of man God had planned in the beginning, for our glory. It is why the New Covenant is a ministry of peace, reconciliation, and of the Spirit, unlike the Old that was a ministry of death and condemnation. When we study the wrath of God we see it was poured out under the Law, God's judgement and condemnation came to men. Under the school master they were vessels of God's wrath for what purpose? So that we are the vessels of His mercy, in Jesus God's mercy triumphed his judgement, Paul writes. As God found grace in Noah, God gave His Son Jesus who came in the fullness of the Father, of grace and truth, to save mankind. Abraham was counted righteous by faith before he was circumcised so that the promise comes to all peoples and all nations. Redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sin, was in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that "he lavished on us, with all wisdom and understanding."*

So that the God of our Lord, the Father of glory, gives you a Spirit of wisdom and revelation in knowing him.*

The wisdom of God is in the Son. We receive the wisdom of God in the knowledge of the Son. Thus in believing in the Son, when we heard His words, the gospel of our salvation, the word of truth, the Spirit revealed to us, giving us a Spirit of revelation in knowing Him. This knowing speaks of personal experience, a personal relationship, and to being born of Spirit, from above. As a child of God we have this great testimony of the Spirit, that cries Abba Father! And we have this power within us raising us up into newness of Life. This is great wisdom, that Eternal Life is in the Son, thus the true disciple knows His words are eternal life, they abide in Him the living bread, the Word of Life, they have revelation in the knowledge of His great love, and have fellowship with the Father and the Son, and the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses them from all sin. From such strength and wisdom we can love one another, forgive one another our trespasses, and love our enemies. By such we are established in Him.

so that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God is revealed...*

What is the manifold wisdom of God that is to be revealed in the Church? If Jesus is the wisdom of God and it pleased God to make proclaiming the gospel to be wisdom and this wisdom is revealed through the knowledge of the Son then the manifold wisdom of God revealed through the Church is  the wisdom of knowing the Son. We see such wisdom in Paul's prayer to the Church at Ephesus, "I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God."* 

in whom exist hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. I tell you this so that no one may deceive you by fine-sounding arguments.*

Is the fear of God the beginning of wisdom and understanding? or is believing in Jesus Christ the beginning of wisdom and understanding? In Christ exists all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge! It is a fine-sounding argument to go back to the old covenant and to build upon that, it is the inspired word of God right? This was the battle of the early church refuting such and so it is today. Such fine arguments have "the appearance of wisdom in piety, humility, and harsh control over the body, but have no value against the desires of the flesh."* However, in the name of Jesus is great power, "He is the one we proclaim, putting in mind all also teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ."*

to influence by the Word of God, the mystery, that hidden for ages and generations but now has been revealed to his saints, those God chose to make known...

Jesus is the Word of God, the wisdom of God, think about this, the words that go forth from the mouth of God like a two-edged sword, this is Jesus who created all things in the beginning, who was with God and was God. In Him is the Light and Life of men. Wisdom comes through knowledge of the Son. By faith, according to grace Christ dwells in us being rooted and established in love. His grace is sufficient as God's power from the inner being is transforming us into the full measure of the Son. False religion focuses on controlling and manipulating external behavior, mostly through fear and condemnation, so it lives to the "letter of the law" following Moses but neglecting the wisdom of God revealed in Christ. Influence is said to define leadership, what better way to influence than to be transformed into the image of the Son? And if Jesus is wisdom from God then we become wise, great in the eyes of God when we become like Him.

The New Living Way "... Now, at the present released from the Law, having died in that which held us captive, so that we serve in newness of Spirit and not the old written code " -- Romans 7:16 Paul states that we are now united to Christ in his death and also raised with him into newness of life.
