Jesus, Wisdom from God

But you exist of Him in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God, and these; righteousness and sanctification and redemption.*

We exist "in Christ" who has become to us wisdom of God. Through a dispensation of God's grace through Christ God established a New Testament, a will that required the death of His Son, a New Covenant established by the blood of Christ. Christ is Head of the Church where two become one, those under the Mosaic Law and those not, who listen to His voice, and through which the manifold wisdom of God is manifested, "according to the eternal purpose accomplished in Christ Jesus, our Lord, in whom we have boldness and confident access through faith in Him.* We exist in Jesus, Wisdom from God.

he taught them in their synagogue, consequently they were astonished and said, where did this man get such wisdom and miraculous powers?*

The wisdom of Jesus and the wisdom of the religious leaders often contradicted each other.  For example they were astonished when Jesus was invited to the home of a Pharisee but broke the tradition of the elders and did not wash before a meal. But what makes one clean? does tithing, does giving alms, does washing of water? Their wisdom was to clean the outward, but Jesus said clean the inside first, "rather what is inside give as alms and then everything exists clean for you."*  Woe to you Pharisees, who tithe ten percent of everything but neglect the weightier matters, the dirtiness of your inward, the greed and lies, the hatred of your brother, the lust of your hearts, the seeking of self glory... give these things as alms.

Indeed, for this reason the Wisdom of God said, ‘I will send them prophets and apostles, some of whom they will kill and persecute,’*

The people were astonished at His wisdom but the Pharisees, scribes, and lawyers were offended by Jesus and plotted to kill Him. Their generation would be held accountable for the blood of the prophets, even the Queen of the south will rise in judgement over this generation because she came "to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and behold greater than Solomon is here."* The array of Solomon in his wisdom did not compare to lilies blowing in the wind, and here was the One who created the lilies, who created all life, the wisdom of God made flesh dwelling among men. Searching the scriptures for Life, confessing to be wise, they neglected the wisdom of God before them. They claimed to be of God but they did not even believe Moses and had exchanged the truth of God for a lie. The men of Nineveh who believed Jonah will rise in judgement over them.

wisdom is proved right by all her children.*

You want to see wisdom? look at the children, look at the current generation. And while the American father is good at blaming their children, their wisdom is manifested in their children. And the wisdom of God is to be manifested through the Church, so a Church which has had such an prominent role and opportunity to impact its children but then fails, who is to blame? the wisdom of the American Church is manifested in its children. At such a time as this, this generation of believers will be held accountable for the future of its children.

Yet they could not withstand the wisdom and the Spirit with which he spoke.*

Stephen was full of the Spirit and wisdom of God which they could not refute so "they incited the people and the elders and the scribes and they suddenly seized him and they brought him before the counsel and set up false witnesses against him." They did the same thing to Jesus, sending spies out among the disciples, keeping account of things they did trying to find laws and traditions they would break so they could use it against Him. They would incite the people on several occasions who tried to kill Jesus, but it was not his time. They would use adherence to rules and regulations to control and manipulate people, and through  lies, false accusations, inciting hatred and fear.

Jesus coined the term hypocrite referencing these religious leaders, they harshly judged the people, putting heavy burdens on the shoulders of men. The wisdom of Jesus said judge not lest you be judged, the way you measure it will be measured back. Jesus contradicts their authority and wisdom, saying God says "blessed are the merciful for they shall receive mercy." Today, we see this type of religion whose hypocrisy is most notable, these who neglect the wisdom of God in Jesus, building on the image of God in the old covenant, though we are not under the Mosaic Law and are not justified by works these create an image of God based on such, and like God of old their god thunders from a mountain, with fear and dread.

according to the eternal purpose accomplished in Christ Jesus, our Lord, in whom we have boldness and confident access through faith in Him.*

We do not withdrawal from God because of fear. Jesus is the author of faith and faith exists assurance and confidence, so we exist confident and free not fearful people. The word fear, phóbos means withdraw (separate from,) and to withdraw is to flee because one feels inadequate (without sufficient resources,) this type of fear is often used negatively of withdrawing from God. A fundamental principle of the new covenant is that, "we have boldness and confident access through faith in Him." When we understand the difference between the covenants of the old testament and the new which is established in the blood of Christ, we have a better understanding of faith compared to fear. Jesus said do not fear man whom can destroy the body but fear God who can destroy both body and soul.

The beginning of wisdom is to fear God and the knowledge of the Holy One, understanding.*

We know as Peter confessed that the words of Jesus are eternal Life and that we have come to know and believe that He is the Holy One of God. Thus as Paul prayed our eyes have been opened, enlightened to the knowledge of the Son. This knowledge of the Holy One is understanding revealed to us by the Spirit of God. Jesus is wisdom from God so we look at all scriptures in this Light of a New Covenant established in His blood. When we do we have better understanding of this verse. If Jesus is wisdom from God then is not believing in Jesus the beginning of wisdom and understanding? Yes, this is what matters, our faith in Jesus and as John writes iterating such wisdom, the same commandment exists together in importance, that you believe and love one another.*

Yea, the sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the Law, but thanks to God who gives us victory in our Lord Jesus Christ.*

The power of sin is the Law, but in Christ we exist not under Law but under grace, bound to him in a New Covenant. "For sin will have no dominion over you, since you exist not under law but under grace."* How does sin have dominion? under the Law, "the power of sin is the Law." In the Mosaic covenant the Law had power through the fear of punishment and death, thus its wisdom and understanding was founded on fear. In the new the wisdom of God and the glory of God has come in the face of Jesus. Therefore being enlightened to the knowledge of the Son, the Holy One is the beginning of wisdom and understanding. Paul prays that our eyes would be opened to such truth. The old was a ministry of death and condemnation where the power of the Law was in the fear of punishment and death. In the new covenant in Christ the dominion of sin and death is swallowed up in victory, and there is no condemnation, nor fear.

Exists no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear because fear has to do with punishment, so the one who fears is not perfected in God's love.*

This truth will set many free who have been subjected to a spirit of fear by false teachings. "For God gave us not a spirit of fearfulness; but of power and love and a sound mind."* A sound mind is a renewed mind, one that wears the helmet of salvation, firmly assured and confident. When I was in the Army I went to Air Assault school where I received training to repel out of helicopters. I remember the first time I did, fear tried to enter my mind but it was quickly driven out. How? I was assured and confident because of the training I received. This is our faith in Christ, it exists assurance, confidence, trust...

the one who fears is not perfected in God's love.*

Fear is an inhibitor of faith or said another way, faith that is active or being perfected in Love drives out fear. Surely, those strengthened in truth and love have a renewed mind and the ability to drive out fear. Under the Law the fear of punishment had power, thus the beginning of wisdom was to fear God. Jesus said fear not many times to the disciples who were under such fear. Many who believed did not confess him because they were fearful of the religious establishment. If the fear of God was the beginning of wisdom, Jesus would have taught such but he said fear not, as He wanted them to increase their faith, to believe God, rather than fear. In the New Covenant we have boldness and confidence to approach God, such comes through love and our faith increasing. Fear and condemnation will prevent children from approaching their heavenly Father, boldly.

'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is perfected in weakness.' Therefore I most gladly boast in my weakness so that the power of Christ dwells in me.*

In Christ we are not bound to the Law, nor under the power of fear, such would not be from God, but from spirits introduced into the Church by what Paul calls doctrines of demons. In the Church of Galatia, we get a picture of a severing from Christ and falling from Grace, having went back to the teachings of the old testament, building upon these while neglecting the wisdom of God in Christ. In Revelations we see synagogues of Satan, and a Church where Jesus is knocking at the door, let me in... Surely this is apostasy of the Church, neglecting Jesus, the wisdom of God, deceptively going back and building upon that which doesn't perfect nor bring Life. God has eternally purposed and manifested His wisdom in the One, Jesus, wisdom from God.

Thank You Jesus
