My heart is broken because of you false prophets, my bones tremble, I stagger like a drunkard overcome with wine, because of these holy words God has spoken against you. The land lies under a curse, full of adultery, with leaders who abuse the power they have. They are ungodly people, I have seen their acts and deeds in my house.
Their wisdom is like the serpent, therefore, their path will become slippery. They will be chased and disaster will befall them at the appointed time. Look at the prophets of other gods! They are terribly evil and lead people astray but now my leaders have become even worse, they commit adultery and love lies, thus they encourage those who do such evil so no one turns from their sins.
Therefore this is what God says; It is because of these leaders that the land is filled with wickedness. I will feed them with bitterness and give them poison to drink. Listen to what God says, do not listen to them when they fill you with false hope, saying don't worry, you will have peace, and no harm will come our way. They despise me and follow their own selfish desires. Have they been in my presence? Have they cared enough to listen?
Therefore I am against these who steal messages from each other and claim they are from above. I am against these smooth tongue people who say, this prophesy is from God. Their dreams are flagrant lies that lead my people into sin. I did not send them nor appoint them, and they have no message from me, for my people.
Keep asking each other what is the Lord saying and what is his answer? but stop using this phrase, prophesy from the Lord, because people are using it to give authority to their own ideas, turning upside down the words of God, the living God. If anyone says, prophecy from the Lord or what prophecy has the Lord burdened you with, even though they have been warned not to, say to him, this is what the Lord says, You are the burden! The Lord says he will abandon you."
