Jesus: Eternal Life, Word Of God

So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him.1

It is written in the prophets that all shall be taught by God.2 Therefore every man that hath heard and learned of the Father came unto Jesus as he is truth. Those of the Father who heard his words heard truth and knew he was of the Father. He came by water and blood, and a man was sent before him to testify of him. Now the spirit is the one that testifies, because the spirit is truth. The three testify on earth; the spirit, blood, and water. But the testimony of God is greater than mans', the testimony of God is this; Whoever believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself. Whoever does not believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has borne concerning his Son. And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.2 This is written so that we may know we have eternal life and be confident in him, in that he hears us. He came to give understanding so that we may know him who is true, and that we are in the true one, in the son of him, Jesus Christ, this one is the true God and eternal life.3

In the beginning was the Word and the word was with God and God was the word, this was in the beginning with God. Everything came to be through him and apart from him came to be nothing. In him was life and the life was the light of the humans. The light in the darkness is appearing and the darkness grasped it not. A man was sent from God to testify of him, testifying concerning the light so that all should be believing through Him. It is this light of truth which is enlightening every human coming into the world. He was in the world, and the world came to be through him, but the world knew him not. He came unto his own and his own did not accept him, yet whoever obtains him he gives the right to be children of God, the ones believing in his name. Who not out of blood neither of will of the flesh neither out of the will of man but out of the will of God. The word became flesh and tabernacles among us and we gaze at the glory of him as of the only begotten beside the Father full of grace and truth.4

I am the bread of life. The one eating of the flesh and drinking of the blood of me hath eternal life and will be raised up to the last day... for truly my flesh is food and my blood is drink... the ones eating and drinking me, these are the ones abiding in me and I in them. Jesus was commissioned by the living Father and he is living because of the Father, the one eating him shall be living because of him. He is the bread that came down from heaven, unlike the manna from heaven, whoever eats this bread will live forever. When many of his disciples heard this they said, this is a hard teaching. Jesus knew that the twelve murmured also so he said unto them, is this also a stumbling block for you? What if you behold the son of the human ascending where he was formerly? The spirit is making to live, the flesh does not benefit yet one of the sayings which I am speaking to you, these sayings are spirit and life. No one is able to come to me unless the Father has given him to me.5

Many of his disciples hearing this went back and walked no more with him. Then Jesus to the twelve asked will you also go away? Peter responded, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life and we believe and are sure that you are Christ, the son of the living God.6

As I first read these scriptures like Peter I had the realization that Jesus's words were of eternal life, that He is the Word of God, in him all things were created. And like the disciples on the road to Emmaus in my heart his words burned, Did not our hearts burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?7  He is the Word of God, eat and drink him, the bread of life and the living water!
