Behold The Glory

who existed from the beginning, who we heard, who we behold, with our eyes, who we looked upon and our hands touched, concerning the word of life. This life was revealed and we beheld and testify and proclaim to you the eternal life... (1 John 1:1-2) John writes Jesus was the word of God that became flesh and dwelt among men and they had looked upon his glory (John 1:14). What glory did they look upon? "The glory who was the one and only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth" (John 1:15). The glory, not of men, "he was in the world and the world was created by him but they did not know him." But he came into the darkness, he was the Light, "In him was Life and that Life was the light unto men and the light shined in darkness..." (John 1:4). Behold, the Light, the word of life. and this exists the message which we heard from him and proclaim to you; God is Light and exists not, no darkness in him... (1 John 1:5) This is the gospel message proclaimed ...

Eternally Loved of God

I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have drawn you with lovingkindness (Jeremiah 31:3) God foreknows the future thus he sees outside the restrictions of time. For God to have chosen you before he created the world and for him to have chosen you in love is to say that he eternally loved you. To be eternally loved is to never be forsaken and forever drawn to him through lovingkindness. He purposed this in Christ to demonstrate the incomparable riches of his grace in lovingkindness. even as he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy, blameless in his presence, in love, predestining us for adoption as his own through Jesus Christ according to the good pleasure of his will (Ephesians 1:4-5)  From eternity God chose us before he created the world, the establishment of time. Through foreknowledge, God looked into time and chose you. Paul writes, that before Jacob and Esua had done anything good or bad, God chose Jacob and loved him. Jacob wasn't so r...

Why We Endure

having, therefore, these the promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God (2 Corinthians 7:1) Peter writes that through Jesus we have received honorable and effective promises of God and these will help us grow into the likeness of Jesus so that we escape corruption in the world through fleshly desires (desires that defile the soul and spirit) and we come into fullness partakers of God's divine nature. *  Through God's mercy and lovingkindness we receive the promise to escape corruption and receive the Promised Holy Spirit that made us alive and raised us to be seated in heavenly places in Christ, God adopting us as his own. For we exist the temple of the living God, just as God said 'I will dwell in them and in them walk and live and exist their God and they my people... and exist a Father to you and you exist sons and daughters to me says the Lord Almighty' (2 Corinthians 6:16-18) God w...

Storing Up Life

In my heart I have hidden your word that I might not sin against you (Psalm 119:11) One of the weapons of our warfare is the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God. Jesus said my words are spirit and truth. One way we can weaponize this sword so that we can stand on the evil day is by hiding the word of God in our hearts. The Hebrew word hide implies to treasure up or store up. Your word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. Your word is life and the ones that touched, heard, and held, the word of life whose words were eternal life proclaims to us the word of life so that we too may experience life, fellowship, and joy.  The words of Jesus exist as living bread and we not only eat this living bread to receive life but we feed on it as a daily bread, a continual source of life. If we sow into the Spirit the word of God we have a harvest of life and peace. The word of God, the vine we abide in so that we might bear fruit of life. So to abide in the words of life...

By My Spirit

this is the word of the Lord... not by human might nor strength, but by my Spirit (Zechariah 4:6) Paul writes when we believed we received the Promised Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:13). God promised to the "children of the promise" not according to the flesh that they would not see corruption, that he would put his Spirit within. As spiritual new creations we can then have power to do the spiritual things of God. Not under the Law are we lead by the Spirit, for that would be from works and our strength, thus under grace will we rule, as grace is sufficient for God's power to perfect and mature us into Christ. Through God's power are we empowered to live a godly life. in order that according to his glory, he grants you ruling power through his Spirit in your inner being (Ephesians 3:16) When we heard the word of truth, the gospel of our salvation and believed we received the promised Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:13-14). Also in Ephesians 1 Paul prays that we would have a spiri...

The Promise of Life Through God's Lovingkindness

now, for that raising up Jesus from the dead, no longer to be on the point of returning to corruption, in this way saying 'I give you the pure faithful [promises] of David (Acts 13:34) In Christ, the promises of God are fulfilled. Jesus is before all things, all things are created through him, and all things hold together through him (Colossians 1:15-20). All the promises of God find their yes and amen in Christ (2 Corinthians 1:20). The new covenant confirms the promises to David of lovingkindness.  "Incline your ear and come towards, made alive in being, I will make with you an everlasting covenant, the lovingkindness to David confirmed" (Isaiah 55:3). This verse has been translated to speak of the sure mercies God promised to David. But this is the verse believed to be referenced in Acts 13:34 and it doesn't seem like a Messianic prediction but looking closer we can see the idea that the promises to David, speak of not seeing corruption and this promise would be fu...
