Hall of Faith

For this reason having, we ourselves have so great a multitude of testimony surrounding us, let us also lay off the old, all weight and sin so easily distracting us to run through perseverance the race lying before us. Hebrews 12:1   Usually this verse is used in a way to mean those around us are the great cloud of witnesses, and certainly we can say so, but in context Paul has just described people of great faith. Think of Paul visiting the games and halls of the Olympic heroes then giving us a like comparison in a hall of faith. In the previous chapter Paul had just described these people of faith, and now think of this comparison as a literal hall of faith. This is the picture Paul gives us, a picture of walking through a great hall of faith. The hall of faith exists as an encouragement for those running the race. and these all received witness (martyreō) through their faith, not receiving that promised the one God prepared beforehand, something better with us in mind, so that p...

Great In The Kingdom Of God

Yea, the one great among you exists your servant, yea, whoever lifts up himself will be humbled and whoever humbles himself will be lifted up . * This is a principle of God, in our weakness God's power is perfecting us, lifting us up. Mary said God had looked on her humble state and blessed her to become the mother of Jesus, she said this is what the almighty does, "taking down rulers from thrones and exalting the humble." *  Here are several principles of being great in God's eyes, it is so easy, and so hard, many are called but few are chosen. To be great in the kingdom of God is to be great in the eyes of God and to give your life a living sacrifice. the one great among you exists your servant ... * To be great in the eyes of God is to be a servant of all. Jesus humbled himself becoming a man, and was obedient to the point of death on a cross. *  Yes, the greatest in the kingdom of God become like Jesus, who existed a servant of all, so that many might be sa...

Existence of Things Unseen

Faith perceives the universe was created by the word of God, to the extent of what is seen, comes into existence not coming into existence from that visible . Hebrews 11:3 This is the nature of faith, it perceives things that exist but are not seen with the natural eye.  Perceive means to understand, see with insight, reflect. This kind of seeing and understanding does not come through the natural but is given to us in knowledge of Christ. If someone doesn't believe the earth was created then this person does not possess faith as only by faith do we see the things that are unseen. Faith perceives the existence of things unseen. Now, faith exists assurance, hope, conviction of things not seen . For in this, those past give evidence. Hebrews 11:1 The things that exist are created by the word of God. The word of God is Jesus who existed in the beginning with God, who was God, and who created all things that were ever created. *  Think about this, in Jesus, the one who...

Saving Grace

but God existing rich in mercy through his great love, whom loving us also dead in our trespasses, he made us alive together with Christ, grace exists saving . * Grace exists saving, or our salvation exists through grace. God's mercy triumphed his judgement, and his mercy existed because of his great love for us. Think of a father trying to discipline his child but the child turns away, the father could condemn the child, giving him up, but instead he chooses to show mercy because his love is greater. We have access to grace through faith but let's for now explain how grace exists saving. God was long-suffering, enduring sin, in those under the Law, they were vessels of God's wrath so that we are vessels of his mercy. Paul writes, the new covenant is a ministry of reconciliation. The Law judged and condemned Judah for breaking covenant with God, but because of his great love, mercy triumphed. It is an amazing concept. Traditionally salvation is taught only as when we f...

Faith Given

For the one grace exists saving through faith and this is not of yourselves, it is a gift of God . * This verse is usually translated as "for by grace are you saved through faith" but the Greek for through and by are the same word, so it is better translated as "for the one grace exists saving through faith." Later Paul writes, there is only one faith and one Lord. *  And one grace, " yea, each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ ." *  And we have access through Christ " through whom we have also obtained access, the one faith, to the extent of the one this grace in which we stand ." *  Through Jesus we obtained access to grace and faith. This fits with other scripture, Jesus is the author and perfecter of our faith. *  And as Jesus said, " this exists the work of God, so that believing to the extent of whom he sent ." *  Faith comes in believing in Jesus, therefore, faith is a gift given, and it is accord...

Faith of Abraham

Not turning back in unbelief , to the extent of the promise of God, but was strengthened in faith , giving glory to God, until fully convinced of what God promised, existing also powerful to do . Romans 4:20-21 It is an amazing verse about the faith of Abraham, and in it we have much insight unto the strengthening of our own faith. We are given a measure of faith when we believe and our faith is strengthened or perfected, Jesus being the author and perfecter of our faith. Faith is given like a small mustard seed, one of the smallest if not the smallest of seed, and when it is fully grown it is the greatest in the garden. This word for fully convinced  means to fulfill (completely); (pass.) to be fully assured, convinced, persuaded; to bring full measure . God said to Abraham, go to this land, and he went and not as though he did not have doubt along the way, but that he did not turn back, instead being strengthen in faith until it was fully grown. When faith was brought to full ...

Sons of Abraham

Know then, the one through faith, these exist the sons of Abraham . * The sons of Abraham exist by faith. Faith exists things that are not seen by the earthly man but of those who are heavenly, these have assurance, conviction, and hope in Jesus Christ. Qualification of being a son of Abraham is not based upon the flesh, it is not based upon the covenant of circumcision and it is not based upon the covenant of the Law which came later, but is based upon Grace, so that the promise comes to all, not just those under the Law but also those of the faith of Abraham. Through faith, according to grace, one exists a son of Abraham. Now the promise was spoke to Abraham and to his Seed, not saying 'and to seeds' referring to many except 'also to your seed' referring to the one Christ. * The word seed  is also translated as descendant, so the promise was always referring to one descendant. Seed is singular meaning one person, from the lineage of David, fulfilled in Jesus Chris...

Crown of Life

Blessed is the man who endures testing, for that he becomes proven receiving the crown of Life that promised those loving him. *   Being proven is how a young person becomes a man, think of it as a rite to manhood or maturity within the Kingdom Of God. The process of proving includes testing, or refining, Jesus being the refiners fire and the fullers soap. This process is called perfection, it's purpose is that we become to like Christ, to the full measure of the stature of Christ, which is the end goal of the Church, a pure bride, reaching perfection. The process is perfecting, that we are proven mature, and the outcome is Life, receiving the crown of Life. There is a way unto Life. you have the words of eternal life and we believe and know that you are the Holy One of God. *   Before we look more at proving to receive the crown of life it is important to know how to obtain Life. How does one obtain eternal Life? One must believe as Peter, " you have t...

Wisdom From Above

yes! the wisdom from above exists first before all things pure, then next peaceable, reasonable, easily persuades, filled with mercy and profitable fruit, impartial and real . * There is so much in this verse so let's begin with defining that wisdom comes in Christ, " in whom exists hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. I tell you this so that no one may deceive you by fine-sounding arguments ." *  Wisdom comes from above, down came Christ who became for us wisdom from above. *  How we begin to get wisdom is important and there is a difference between that of the old covenant and of the new. In the new God doesn't give us a spirit of fear but of power, agape love, and a sound mind. *  In the old fear was the beginning of wisdom and understanding, as the Law had power through the fear of punishment, but in the new we are born from above and are given " a Spirit of wisdom and revelation in knowing him ." *  Jesus is the final authority and sourc...
