Christ Our Righteousness

now, you exist from him [God], in Christ Jesus, who became our wisdom from God, and these righteousness, sanctification, and redemption (1 Corinthians 1:30) To those called, Jesus is wisdom from God. * The wisdom that we speak in the new covenant was hidden in a mystery until the appointed time when God would make it known through Christ, it is to the extent of our glory (1 Corinthians 2:7). In that we are being conformed to the image of Christ. For us to be glorified, to be reconciled, to be chosen and adopted as a child of God, the issue of righteousness has to be dealt with. God made Jesus sin on our behalf so we become the righteousness of God. He [God] made the one [Jesus] knowing no sin, sin on our behalf so that in him we become the righteousness of God (2 Corinthians 5:21). We know from other scriptures that Jesus did not become sin, he came to take, bear sin and there was no sin in him (1 John 3:5), he committed no sin (1 Peter 2:22), he was holy, blameless, and pure (Mark 1...

The Source of Trust and Confidence

But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose hope is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.  (Jeremiah 17:7-8)  The definition of trust is defined as the assured belief in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of someone or something. *  It is a reliance on the truthfulness or accuracy of : BELIEVE; to place confidence in; dependence on something future or contingent : HOPE. The distinction between the secular definition of trust and the biblical one is the source; where assurance, confidence, reliance, hope come. Trust is the assured belief in something. An assured belief (assurance meaning we believe or are sure, confident that something is true). The secular definition of assurance and confidence is a reliance on one's self. In fact, we can no longer use a ...

Blessed Through The Fire

so the proving of your faith (more precious than gold that perishes) proven by fire, now, [you are,] found to the praise and glory and revelation of Jesus Christ (1 Peter 1:7) There exists a state when the mind becomes firm and steadfast under pressure, affliction, persecution... James writes, blessed is the one remaining steadfast under the trial as he comes into existence proven, receiving the crown of life (James 1:12). Earlier James writes, that endurance has the intended purpose of maturing us, which outcome is wholeness, lacking in nothing (James 1:3-4). To the one seeking not the kingdom and righteousness of this world, wholeness and lacking in nothing are treasures of life, something to be crowned with life. Prosperity of the soul is more precious than silver and gold. Maturity that is produced during the proving of the trial is a blessing through the fire.  Paul prays that God would grant us a spirit of wisdom and revelation in knowing Christ (Ephesians 1:17). Something po...

Becoming A Son

now, if the Spirit puts to death the deeds of the flesh we will live, for those led by the Spirit exist the sons of God (Romans 8:12) Those led by the Spirit put to death the deeds of the flesh. Challenging words. Notice, the word for sons υἱός ( hyios ) "those led by the Spirit exists the sons of God" and the word for children τέκνον ( teknon ) used in the next few verses "... the Spirit himself testifies with ours that we exist children of God and if children then heirs... provided we suffer with him" (Romans 8:15-17). Do you see the maturing or perfecting process? Children have testimony of the Spirit, that they exist a child of of God. But a son has grown into maturity, being led by the Spirit to put to death the deeds of the flesh. Paul wrote earlier in this letter, " knowing this, because our old self was crucified with him, so that the body of sin would be rendered useless ..." (Romans 6:6). These are teachings of baptism that those who follow C...

Marked As His Own

Y ou also in him hearing the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation in him also believing were marked of the promised Holy Spirit,   who exists the guarantor of our inheritance to the extent redemption of his possession, to the praise of his glory (Ephesians 1: 13-14)   Do you have a mark that distinguishes you as a child of God? God marked or sealed you with the Holy Spirit when you believed. This marking is to the extent of his possession, in other words, that you are His own. We are marked until that day when there will be a redemption of his possession. As we await our salvation the redemption of our bodies. Earlier in Ephesians 1:5 we read he predestined us for adoption as his own. You were marked as his own, a child of God. you received a Spirit of adoption in whom cries out 'Abba the Father' the Spirit himself testifing of our spirit because we exist children of God (Romans 8:15-16) That the Spirit pours out the love of the Father in our hearts and we e...
