Maturity Through the Knowledge of Jesus

The one saying “I know him” and keeps not his commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him. Now, whoever keeps his word, truly in this person the love of God is matured in knowledge, because existing in him. The one saying he abides in God ought to walk just as Jesus walk - 1 John 2:3-6 John relates keeping his commands to keeping the words of Jesus, not to be confused with commandments, handwritings, decrees, rules and regulations, elemental principles that have no power to overcome the desires of the flesh so that one can keep his words. In a place of maturity one finds that his words or commands are not burdensome. And this is how we know the love of God is fulfilled or completed or matured, when we find keeping his words are not burdensome. Maturity comes through knowledge of the Son, the words of Jesus increase our faith, and faith works through love thus we know God's love is matured in us when we have faith, when we are fully convinced of his words and promises.   ...

For the Service of Your Faith

rather also if I am poured out as a drink offering it is to the extent of your faith ... - Philippians 2:17 Paul writes this letter having been imprisoned. Literally the pouring out of his life as an offering could occur, and Paul is hard pressed between staying in this life and being with Christ. "For me living, Christ, also dying gain if now I live in the flesh this means fruitful work I also know, not knowing which I prefer, I am hard pressed between the two, having the desire to depart and be with Christ, for that is much better by far, yet for it is necessary remaining in the flesh." Paul experienced many hardships and he writes it is for the service of their faith, and it is was for ours too. to know him and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of his suffering, being conformed to his death, if by any means attaining the resurrection from the dead - Philippians 3:10-11 The resurrection life that Paul is attaining, but not as if he has attained it fully, v.12...

Growing Strong in God's Might

the ho   word logos   of   the ho   Lord kyrios   causes to  grow auxanō   and kai   strengthens ischuō   according to kata   might kratos  - Acts 19:20 Did the word of the Lord grow strong or did the word of the Lord cause the church to grow strong and be strengthened in God's might? I would say the later as the word of the Lord is strong. "So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it" (Isaiah 55:11). It is the word of God that causes us to grow and strengthens us according to His might. My Father is glorified in this, that you bear much fruit and become my disciples - John 15:8 In the new testament John writes Jesus is the word of God and his words are living bread and life (John 1:1-2; John 6:51, 68). Jesus said he is the Vine, all who abide in him will bear fruit and apart from him we can do ...

Agape Love Abounds More and More

And this I pray so that your love may abound more and more, in knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is essential, so that existing pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God - Philippians 1:9-11 Love abounds more and more in knowledge and all discernment. That you are filled with fruit speaks of maturity, thus speaking of growth in Christ where we grow up truth in  love. Thus is what Paul writes, that Jesus ascended to fill all, giving gifts to men so that the work of ministry builds up the church, in knowledge of the Son, so that we come into a fullness, into mature adulthood, into the full measure of the stature of Christ (Ephesians 4:9-16).  There is a unity of faith in knowledge of Jesus where the body grows and builds itself up in love, abounding more and more in love. so that your hearts are persuaded, knitted together in love also to the ex...

We Will Work This Out

And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. – Philippians 1:6 Do you ever feel like things are working against you, that change seems impossible, then these promises of God are for you. God does not choose us and abandon us, such would not glorify his power and strength but make him look weak. He has given us a Spirit of adoption and if he began a good work in you he will complete it, he is working it out for your good and he will be with you always. God speaks, the scriptures speak, saying "we will work this out." And we know that for those loved of God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose - Romans 8:28 It is a massive promise, that God will work things out for our good. Now, what is the good he is working out? "For those God foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son" (Romans 8:29). Working things out means we share in ...

Can't See the Son Because of the Weeds

now, the ones falling to the extent of the thorns these exist those hearing and on the way are choked out under the cares and riches and pleasures of  living and are not brought to fruition (Luke 8:14). The word "on the way" is also translated as follow, they have heard and received the word with joy and are following Jesus but something happens. A seedling plant that is trying to grow under a thorn bush or vine is being choked out, from receiving nourishment from the sun. Elsewhere Jesus says the kingdom of God is like a farmer who planted wheat but then at night his adversary comes in at night and plants weeds. What is the purpose of the weeds? And it is said the weeds are tare which you can't tell the difference from until the time of harvest. The purpose of these weeds or thorns are to choke out so the true seedling does not bear fruit. … choked out under the cares and riches and pleasures of living and are not brought to fruition (Luke 8:14). The thorn or weeds or ta...
