I Delight In You

You are my son, in you, I delight. * This was the Father speaking to Jesus, the Son *  But doesn't our heavenly Father speak to us as sons and daughters? Yes, there is a word that speaks to us, that calls upon us as sons. In regards to this calling, the discipline of God brings about maturity. Our call to holiness is accomplished through growth which matures us from children to sons. This is that purposed in Christ, so those called are being conformed to His image. The Father loves the children, he is delighted, well pleased that they grow up to bear fruit of righteousness, becoming like him, like his divine nature. Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. * Delight is defined as a high degree of gratification or pleasure:  joy ; extreme satisfaction. *  What more desire of the heart is needed if you have joy and satisfaction? Also, delight means pleasure so we see the translation  of delight is often as pleased, “you are m...

The Lord My Rock

you keep him in perfect peace whose mind stays on you because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock. * Those who trust in the Lord know he is an everlasting rock, for He is a strong city, tower, a fortress in whom God has set up salvation, in whom the righteous enter by faith. As David said: "The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer;" *  When David was pursued by Saul and the enemies of Israel for many years, over and over again his life was on the line. David did not trust in himself, he put his trust in the Lord, his song of deliverance speaks to us today, saying the Lord " He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him.  For who is God besides the LORD? And who is the rock except for our God?" *   There is no one holy like the LORD. Indeed, there is no one besides You! And there is no rock like our God. * What can we boast proudly in when the storms of life enrage around us? When we face our own m...

Sure and Steadfast Hope

so that through two unchangeable facts in which it is impossible for God to lie, the ones having taking refuge have strong encouragement to gain the hope lying before us. *   God doesn't change in regard to his purpose and promises. * It is encouraging to us to know God keeps his purpose and that which he promises. What purpose? that which he purposed in Christ, in that he chose us to exist holy and in His presence in love. * This purpose is by the good pleasure of His will and the counsel of His wisdom. And to those chosen He is working out for good, according to this purpose, that we are being conformed to the image of his Son. * In Christ, he accomplishes this purpose, which he planned in the beginning before the creation of the world. For this purpose, we have hope, an anchor for life, sure and steadfast. having like an anchor of life, both sure and steadfast... * God promised Abraham, who through faith gained the hope lying before him, long-enduring reaching th...

Hoping Against Hope

For in hope saved, now, hope seen exists not hope, for who hopes for what he sees ? Romans 8:42 Hope is not like a one-time thing where we place our hope in Jesus but it is a remaining, continually abiding in him. We are working out our salvation in which hope is an important aspect of our faith along with love. Hope like faith and love is to abound or grow in our life, and hope God uses to fill us with joy and peace through believing. *  Where does hope come from? For in hope we are saved but it is not seen, if it is seen or realized then it is not hope. So we see faith exists the assurance of hope. *  And like grace and peace we have access to it by faith. *  True hope doesn't bring shame or disgrace but is realized through God's love for his children. *  Agape love hopes all. *  In regards to that purposed in Christ, of those chosen being conformed to the image of Christ, we see the importance of abiding in faith, hope, and love. * If existing...

Deeper Love

and this praying so that your agape love abounds more and more in knowing and all understanding to the extent you discern what is essential so that existing pure and not stumbling on the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that through Jesus Christ to the glory and praise of God. * It glorifies the Father that we bear fruit, the fruit of righteousness that comes through growing up in knowledge of the Son. So Paul prays that we have discernment into what is essential for this purpose. The purpose that God planned in Jesus from the beginning, that we exist holy and in His presence in love. According to this purpose God is working out all things for our good, to those chosen, to be conformed to the image of his son. The child knows the Father whose Spirit testifies that he belongs and is loved, but here we are talking about a deeper love, one that comes from bearing fruit of righteousness through growth. That growth which is purposed in the Church that we grow in kn...

Just and Justifier

for what if some are unfaithful, nullifying this, their unbelief nullifying the faithfulness of God? * By no means, God is true and every man a liar, as it is written "You are justified in your words and prevail in that your judgement." *  Paul writes, the righteousness of God demonstrates the unrighteousness of men, none are righteous, no not one meet His standards, all fall short of His glory. So what shall we say to this? If He is righteous and we are unrighteous, then would it not be unjust of God to afflict wrath on the unrighteous? If we are born in sin, unrighteous, because of the one act of Adam, then it would seem unfair? But how can God judge the world? If in man's untruthfulness, God's truthfulness abounds to His glory then why are sinners condemned? How do we come to the understanding that God is just and justifier? that for the benefit of demonstrating his righteousness at the present time, to the extent he exists just and justifier of the one from...
