Every Good Thing

Now, seek first the kingdom of God and that His righteousness and all these things will be added unto you . * The kingdom of God is like a man who finds treasure in a field and then sells all he has to possess this treasure. " A man after God's own heart speaks of one after God's heart, or one that is after or seeks after, or one that is devoted to God ." * First, this man was seeking treasure, something he valued. The principle is you seek what you value, and are devoted to this, thus the treasure is where the heart is. Jesus is living bread and when we labor for food that endures unto life we find this treasure as Peter found the words of Jesus exist eternal Life. Believing is the work of God, and it is like "buying in," a laboring in the mind, a persuasion that this food is good. We must be persistent to obtain this bread, even when we have tasted that it is good, we must continue to see it as treasure, something to be sought after persistently. By fa...

Devoted To God

I have found David the son of Jesse, a man according to my heart who does all that I will. * We can equate obedience to doing the will of God. If we look at the early life of David, God is preparing his heart, which is a matter of trusting in God or that when we trust we find over and over again that God is faithful and trustworthy. This is how Abraham did not turn back because of unbelief but was strengthened in faith, he becoming fully convinced that what God promises he will surely do. Was David always obedient? No. I believe obedience is a fruit of a devoted heart, a heart after God, not the other way around. The older son in the story of the Prodigal Son was outwardly obedient but did not do the will of the Father, in that he did not love his brother who came to his senses returning home. A man after God's own heart speaks of one after God's heart, or one that is after or seeks after, or one that is devoted to God. Why would one be obedient or seek after someone without...

Walk In The Light

now, if walking in the light as he exists light, having fellowship together with each other also the blood of Jesus, the one his son cleanses us from all sin . * John begins this passage proclaiming that which they heard from the beginning. In John the first chapter, the One in the beginning was the Word, who was with God and was God, in Him all things were created. Jesus exists the first fruit of a new creation, in him we participate in Life and we exist Light as He is Light. If God said let there be Light and Jesus is Light, then Jesus existed in the beginning and when the Word became flesh he dwelt among men, h exists as light. Some did not enter into the Light as their being, their work was of darkness, but to those who received him, he gave them the right to become children of God. He was a Light unto the world and now he exists Light to those who are in darkness. If saying we have no sin, deceiving ourselves and the truth exists not in us . * Existing of truth is like exis...

Healthy Eyes

The lamp of the body exists the eye. If your eye exists healthy your whole body exists enlightened with Light . * Have you ever been around someone and it seemed like their eyes were shining, so that you see Jesus in them? Jesus had qualities that stood out like speaking with authority and power to do mighty things but as far as his physical appearance the scriptures speak of Jesus as being common, but I think he had eyes that shined Light. The concept we see in this verse is if we are whole in Christ, who is the Light, we should be shining forth Light to the world. We are to walk in the Light as he is in the Light. The eye by extension means the faculty of mental perception and understanding. So by extension if the eye is healthy, our perception and understanding is whole, which speaks of a renewed mind, a whole mind, and a sound mind. The question of how are we to be a light unto the world is not just being a witness through speaking good news but also of wholen...

In Awe of God

Now they were on the road going up to Jerusalem and Jesus was leading them, also filled with awe. Now, those following behind were in fear. And taking the twelve back again he told them the things that were to happen to him . * Previously we looked at fear and determined that being in state of fear or fearfulness is not a godly characteristic. *  Jesus knew that his death lay ahead, but he knew of what his death would bring, a new covenant, and he walked in purpose, not in fear but in awe. Being in awe of God is a godly characteristic of one possessing faith and maturity in Christ. Listen, we are going up to Jerusalem and the Son of Man will be handed over to the chief priest and the scribes also they will condemn him to death and hand him over tot he gentiles . * Some say the Romans condemned Jesus but it was the Jewish leaders, the high priest and scribes who did such a thing. Jesus spoke of this and his death but they did not understand. *  Previously he heale...
