Grace Reigns

"that as sin reigned, in death, so also grace reigns through righteousness unto life eternal through Jesus Christ, the Lord of us." 1 This word for reign has the root word that means king , ruler. Christ is given the name "King of kings" and "Lord of lords." It states that Christ has been given all authority on earth, as in heaven, He reigns, Son of God, who sits at the right hand of the Father, He is Son, has ownership rights to the kingdom, the Father has given this to the Son. If Christ is Lord and sin no longer reigns then Christ reigns, our righteousness is in Christ therefore grace reigns through the righteousness of Christ. Paul writes that where sin reigns death reigns, and that the Law entered so that the offense of sin might abound. If the Law abounds sin then through the Law sin reigns. Grace reigns through righteousness unto life eternal, abundant life. Sin reigned in death but Grace reigns in life, this is true Liberty in Christ. G...

Riches Of His Grace

" to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved. In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace which He lavished on us. In all wisdom and insight, He made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His kind intention which He purposed in Him " 1 It was by the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His Grace, according to the riches of His Grace, according to the purpose of Him, that He who works all things according to the purpose of His will, in all wisdom and prudence, made Grace abound to us. By Grace God purposed in Christ that we would be blessed " with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ ." 4  By Grace and in Christ we have been accepted, adopted, have redemption in His blood, the forgiveness of sins. By Grace we are to be to the praise of His glory, that when we hear, trust, and believe in this t...

Anchor For My Soul

...to take hold of the hope being set before us, which as an anchor we have of the soul, both sure and unshakable, entering into that within the veil where as a forerunner for us entered Jesus ... 1 Jesus having cried out with a loud voice, yielded up His Spirit. 2  When Jesus gave up the Spirit the veil between the Holy Place and the Most Holy Place of the temple was torn. Paul writes that Jesus entered into this Most Holy Place as our eternal High Priest, to do so he had to meet the requirements of the old covenant and as Paul writes His blood was sprinkled on the articles of worship, our hearts to cleanse them, our hearts, and by the Spirit he is able to stay our high priest forever. In this passage we see Paul speak of this hope that is an anchor of the soul, this hope that entered into the Holy Place before Jesus. This hope is real, an anchor for the soul. This anchor for the soul is more than just wishful thinking, it speaks of a godly expectation of something promised...

Holy One of God

" We have believed and have known that you are the Holy One of God ." 1 Peter makes this statement after Jesus had told them to labor for spiritual food, to eat his flesh and drink His blood. Jesus had healed many, " One man was there who had been an invalid for thirty-eight years ." 3  And He had did this on the Sabbath day, "And this was why the Jews were persecuting Jesus, because he was doing these things on the Sabbath." Jesus responded to the religious leaders, " For as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, so also the Son gives life to whom he will. The Father judges no one, but has given all judgment to the Son, that all may honor the Son, just as they honor the Father ." 4 Jesus establishes His authority and reaffirms he is Holy One of God. " Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life ." 4  H...

Together We Stand

“Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand." 1 This word for divide properly means to divide, distribute into parts, portions; to get as a section or allotment; a division or share. Here the kingdom is being divided into shares.  This desolation speaks of the wasteland, the wilderness, the other side of the kingdom of God, of Satan who claims himself as lord of heaven, and it speaks of the resulting desolation that division causes. Unity is the opposite of division, it is a disunity from the world, but at the same time requires a unity within and a love for the world. It is a come and be separate, a people unto your God. The kingdom of God divided will become desolate. Together we will stand or divided we will fall.  The United States of America was founded on such a principle as unity. John Dickinson wrote in the "The Liberty Song," "join hand in hand, brave Americans all...

Worthy Is The Lamb

" Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world ." The title Agnus Dei, the Lamb of God, is given to Jesus.  "Now the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come." 2 Jesus Christ is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of kings of the earth. 4  To Him be glory and dominion forever and ever Amen. He has made us to reign in His kingdom, priests of God. He will come soon, because His people have left their first love. " Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him, and all tribes of the earth will wail on account of him. Even so. Amen ." 5 As God warned Israel that they had forsaken his love, full of " pride, fullness of food, and abundance of idleness; neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. And they were haughty and committed abomination before Me ." 6  Now He speaks warnings to the c...

Sealed By God

" Moreover the one establishing us with you in Christ, and having anointed us is God, and who also having put his seal on us and having given us the pledge of the Spirit in the hearts of us ." 1 This word for pledge means properly, an installment; a deposit ("down-payment") which guarantees the balance (the full purchase-price). Jesus valued us so much he paid this price, "do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been bought with a price." This pledge represents full security backed by the purchaser who supplies sufficient proof they will fulfill the entire pledge (promise). This sufficient proof is the sealing and the pledge of the Spirit in the hearts of us. "In whom you also, having heard the word of the truth, the good news of your salvation, in whom also having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of the promise." 3 ...
