Rebellious Children

Woe to the rebellious children, says the Lord, Who take counsel, but not of Me, And who devise plans, but not of My Spirit, That they may add sin to sin; Who walk to go down to others , And have not asked My advice, To strengthen themselves in the strength of others , And to trust in the shadow of others ! Therefore the strength of others Shall be your shame, And trust in the shadow of others Shall be your humiliation ... Now go, write it before them on a tablet, And note it on a scroll, That it may be for time to come, Forever and ever: That this is a rebellious people, Lying children,  Children who will not hear the law of the Lord;  Who say to the seers, Do not see,  And to the prophets, Do not prophesy to us right things;  Speak to us smooth things, prophesy deceits.  Get out of the way,  Turn aside from the path,  Cause the Holy One of Israel  To cease from before us. Because you d...

Prepare You The Way

A prophet is not without honor except in his own country, among his own relatives, and in his own house. Now He could do no mighty work there, except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them. And He marveled because of their unbelief. Then He went about the villages in a circuit, teaching. 1 Jesus had returned to Nazareth and Galilee, his home. The people said  Where did this Man get these things? And what wisdom is this which is given to Him, that such mighty works are performed by His hands! Is this not the carpenter, the Son of Mary, and brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon? And are not His sisters here with us?” So they were offended at Him. 2   Jesus marveled at their unbelief. Usually this is where the story ends, and people make a point of just this, a prophet is without honor at home. But with God all is possible, many amazing things did he do in Galilee. Jesus marveled at their unbelief.  Then He went about the villages in a circu...

Beautiful Things

Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know. 1 Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.  Oh if we understood this principle our foundation would be on the rock. If our heart be troubled; he is the way. If our mind be confused; he is the truth. If we need hope; he is the life.  It is the goodness of God, that leads men to repentance. I listened to a testimony last night. A husband was struggling with drugs, alcohol, and lust. He had covered it well before marriage and had married a Christian....

Moral Democracy

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them . 1 God created man in his own image. What image is this? He then saw that man was alone, so he had man name the creatures, millions of them he had created, but none were found as a suitable helper and mate to him. So God created female in his image. God is all knowing and this idea of female existed, so female was created in the image of God. God gave man a female as a helper, Jesus would send the Holy Spirit as a helper and comforter. Male and female were created in the image of God. Any belief that exalts itself over another, whether it promotes a race or gender over another is exalting itself over an image of God. God seals us with his spirit when we believe, we become a child of God, we are adopted into his family. This family has no distinction between race nor gender. In the eyes of God we are his children. The civil rights movement had great power as it understoo...

Spirit and Truth

When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come . 1 Under the new covenant with God we are sealed with his spirit, Here John calls it the Spirit of Truth, this fufills the prophecy that he writes his laws on our heart with this spirit. It would not be logical to say I want God to teach me in the spirit only, when I have before me the very words of God, who walked among us as a man and instructions that have been passed down to me in written form for thousands of years. Though I truly believe God good reveal this all over again it might be quicker just to read the scriptures and see how you can apply them in your life. It would also not be logical to say I have a knowledge of the word of God without the spirit of God giving revelation, teaching me its meaning and how to apply it. The word of God is living and active. Herei...

Word of Our Testimony

And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death. 1 I believe that we all have a personal message to tell. Truth that is given and revealed to each one. There is reason this living stone becomes a part of God's temple, not only to build his temple here on earth, but each has a gift that contributes to the Church. This gift is wrapped in Grace and is often the result of brokenness. It is God reaching out and touching the core of our being, we have this hope instilled in us, it transforms our brokenness into life. God can use our message to give hope and life to others. There is great power in the blood of the lamb. It is interesting to note that it was not only the blood of the lamb that gave victory over Satan, it included the word of their testimony. The testimony is about this person who shed his blood and as such we receive amazing grace. Such love,  for they loved not their lives ev...

His Hand Is Stretched Out Still

And the Lord said, Go, and tell this people: Keep on hearing, but do not understand; Keep on seeing, but do not perceive. Make the heart of this people dull, and their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and return and be healed , 1 Because Solomon did not keep God's covenant and statutes, God would tear the kingdom away from him and give it to Jeroboam. But for the sake of his father David; he tore it out of the hand of his son Rehoboam. 2   God split the kingdom up leaving the tribes of Judah and Benjamin with Rehoboam . The other ten tribes were given to Jeroboam, of the tribe of Ephraim. God said to Jeroboam, as long as you walked in my ways, as David did, then I will be with you and build for you an enduring house . 3 Jeroboam would do evil in God's eyes, so eventually God would give Israel up, scattering them abroad, because of the sins of Jeroboam, who sinned and who made Is...

The Servant, Israel’s Hope

The Lord  God  has given Me The tongue of the learned, That I should know how to speak A word in season to  him who is  weary. He awakens Me morning by morning, He awakens My ear To hear as the learned.   The Lord  God  has opened My ear; And I was not rebellious, Nor did I turn away.   I gave My back to those who struck  Me, And My cheeks to those who plucked out the beard; I did not hide My face from shame and spitting. For the Lord  God  will help Me; Therefore I will not be disgraced; Therefore I have set My face like a flint, And I know that I will not be ashamed.   He is  near who justifies Me; Who will contend with Me? Let us stand together. Who  is  My adversary? Let him come near Me.   Surely the Lord  God  will help Me; Who  is  he  who  will condemn Me? Indeed they will all grow old like a garment; The m...

A Man, A Donkey, and A Lion

A man was sent by God to deliver a message to the King of Israel. He went and cried out against the king, saying he would be removed and replaced by a child and that the altar would split in half. The king had once been a follower of God, blessed by him. But in his heart he had turned away from God. He feared men more than God. He built altars to other gods, appointed his own priests, and had allowed ungodly men to occupy seats of his counsel and leadership positions. This he allowed under his leadership. The man of God on that day delivered the message from God against him. The king had been at the house of God that day and heard the man cry out so he reached out his hand against him, to cease him, but his hand withered so he could not pull it back. Then what the man had spoken occurred before his eyes, the altar split in two. The king then asked the man to pray for favor from God, that his hand would be restored. So the man of God asked of the Lord and his hand was restored. Th...

Unrepentant Heart

King Solomon loved many foreign women... the Lord had said to the children of Israel, You shall not intermarry with them, nor they with you. Surely they will turn away your hearts after their gods... his wives turned his heart after other gods; and his heart was not loyal to the Lord his God, as was the heart of his father David. 1 Solomon disobeyed God and took wives from other nations, as well as the daughter of Pharaoh: women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Sidonians, and Hittites. Solomon had 700 wives and 300 concubines. You could say he loved his wives, a different one could be had every night for two years and seven months. But as God told him they would eventually lead his heart astray. God sent word to Solomon on two occasions, but Solomon did not repent, he did evil in the sight of the Lord, and did not fully follow the Lord, as did his father David.  Because Solomon had a unrepentant heart and because he built temples for the gods of his wi v es, leadi...

Hardened Heart

There were two men in one city, one rich and the other poor. The rich man had exceedingly many flocks and herds. But the poor man had nothing, except one little ewe lamb which he had bought and nourished; and it grew up together with him and with his children. It ate of his own food and drank from his own cup and lay in his bosom; and it was like a daughter to him. And a traveler came to the rich man, who refused to take from his own flock and from his own herd to prepare one for the wayfaring man who had come to him; but he took the poor man’s lamb and prepared it for the man who had come to him . 1 The rich man had exalted himself over the poor man taking the very thing highly valued, he had no pity for the poor man and he hardened his heart to what he had done. So God sent a messenger to the man who had done this. The messenger told him this story and the man was enraged and wanted to put to death the rich man in the story, who is this man he asked? The man from God said, it is...

Living Stones

As you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious, you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ . 1 Jesus is a living stone in a new foundation of a new spiritual house, For it stands in Scripture: “ Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a cornerstone chosen and precious, and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame. ” 2 Jesus is this cornerstone, of a new temple of God, it began in Zion, Jerusalem, from this new temple he is enthroned, he rules with all authority, this is His Church. Jesus said, The kingdom of God does not come with observation; nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!' For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you .” 2   This living stone was rejected by the builders, T he stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone and a stone of stumbling, and a rock ...
