the way [is] not being fond of money, enough that he is with you for he himself says, 'I will never leave you nor forsake you' (Hebrews 13:5) To find that it is enough that he is with us, that he will never leave nor forsake us, is very profitable for those who seek the way. The deceit of earthly riches is one way the devil tries to choke out our growth. We loose our way if we are fond or love money, as the love of money is the root of all evil and we can not serve two masters as we will only be devoted to one. O ther ways the devil tries to defeat us is to afflict us so that we are burdened down by anxieties and cares of this world, and through persecution.  Things that become deeply rooted in our lives become like walls impossible to overcome. The Effects of God's Grace

I am giving thanks to my God, for the grace of God was given to you in Christ Jesus, for that in all enriched in him in all words and all knowledge just as the testimony of Christ was established among you so you do not lack in any gifts expecting the revealing of our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 1:4-7) The gift of grace came from God and those who receive grace, receive it abundantly also receiving the result or effects of grace, the gifts that come through grace, a justification by his blood where the outcome is our righteousness and life (Romans 5:16-18). Grace is an act of God that denotes results or effects, and the effects of God's grace are tremendous. Grace came to us in Christ Jesus. In fact, I would say Jesus embodies the essence of God's grace as John writes we "gazed on his glory, the glory of the only begotten son from the Father, full of grace and truth " (John 1:14).
