Glory Revealed

Now, may the God of all grace, the one calling you to His eternal glory in Christ Jesus, after suffering a while, he prepares, establishes, strengthens, and founds you . 1 Peter 5:10 He has called us into his glory and we see his glory is being revealed in us in the suffering when he has prepared (accordingly readied, qualified) and established (support that fixes, causes to stand) and strengthened (grow strong, impart strength) and founded (lay the foundation of, ground) us. The God of all grace is revealing his glory in us. For presently we are looking through a mirror obscurely, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I will know fully, just as I have been fully known. * The Sovereign God, who has chosen us by grace and called us into eternal glory, will allow for us to suffer, for a little while. Such time of suffering is nothing compared to the eternal weight of glory being revealed in us. We should ask as Moses, show me your glory .* Those God predestined, he cal...

Those He Calls He Equips

Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, equip you with everything good that you may do his will, working in us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen . Hebrews 13:20-21 When God calls us he equips us, the God of Peace, the one who brought us from the dead by the blood of the Eternal Covenant, will equip you so to do his will. So in this concept of being equipped, we see the calling being irrevocable. "For it is God who works in you to Will and to act on behalf of his good pleasure" ( Philippians 2:13 ).  God called you, he's working in you equipping you to work on behalf of his good pleasure. "So that the man of God may be complete fully equipped for every good work." 2 Timothy 3:17 .  In Hebrews 12 we read God disciplines those he loves, so that we share in his holy character. As the scrip...

God's Everlasting Love

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? 31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? 33 Who shall bring any charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies.  34 Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? 36 As it is written,“For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.” 37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels no...

My Rock and My Fortress

I love you, O  Lord , my strength. 2  The  Lord  is my  rock and my  fortress and my deliverer,      my God, my  rock, in  whom I take refuge,      my  shield, and  the horn of my salvation, my  stronghold. 3  I call upon the  Lord , who is  worthy to be praised,      and I am saved from my enemies. 4  The cords of death encompassed me;      the torrents of destruction assailed me; [ a ] 5  the cords of Sheol entangled me;      the snares of death confronted me. 6  In my distress I called upon the  Lord ;      to my God I cried for help. From his  temple he heard my voice,      and my cry to him reached his ears. 7  Then the earth  reeled and rocked;      the foundations also of the mountains trembled ...
