One Grace

" moreover,  One, to each of us has been given Grace, according to the measure of the gift of Christ ." 1 Grace is a founding principle of Christianity. It is by Grace we grow into the fullness of Christ through faith; " to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ. " 2  Without Grace we will never reach this fullness. The weakness in the Law was it attempted to do it in the flesh, and people failed over and over, so God in His infinite wisdom, unveiled this mystery, through faith in Christ we have grace to boldly approach His throne of Grace, to receive grace and mercy as needed! This gift of Grace is properly understood by examining this verse in three parts;  moreover,  One Grace, to each of us has been given, according to the measure of the gift of Christ . First, we understand,  One   grace, it is easy to miss the  One,  and this verse is translated in different ways, I believe it says One Grace and i...

Wise And Gentle

" Be wise as a serpent, but gentle as a dove ." 1 The nature of a serpent in scripture has a duality about it; its symbol is of evil but also of life and healing. The Hebrew word Nachash, "snake", is also associated with divination.   Think of the serpents God sent among Israel to poison them and also of the serpent God told Moses to lift up for salvation. 2  One serpent brought death and the other life. This bronze serpent was later destroyed because they worshiped it, " they exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator. " 4  Jesus was lifted up and through His Spirit all men are drawn to him and those who look unto him will be saved. 5  Jesus brought life for all men but some loved darkness. Jesus brought Grace and Truth but some love the flesh, some chose religion over the Son of God. This that was lifted up brings life and death, we can choose death but we are told to look into t...

Glorious Grace

" to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the Beloved ." 1 Jesus would become our righteousness, we would be holy and blameless before God through Jesus! This is the glorious grace Paul speaks of. In love, I am holy and blameless before the Father, because of this glorious grace. This is a gift through faith in Jesus. Lets labor into the eternal as it is food for the soul, we have all been blessed with these spiritual blessings through Christ.  Oh we have this bold access to the throne as His children, " In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace" 2 "Just as he chose us, in him before the foundation of the world to be for us holy and blameless before him, in love," 3   Now this scripture requires close analysis. Some times in translation the words are reordered so to be proper English. Now if we look at "to be for us" which is often translated as ...

Sure Foundation

" For we are the circumcision, who worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh" 1 True worshipers of God worship him in Spirit and Truth, this is what Jesus said. This receiving of the Spirit that Jesus promised is a core principle of the new covenant. Paul established this in his first letter from prison and reiterates in his second letter, saying this repetition is not tedious but  safe . This word for safe is asphalḗs , safe, sure, built on what does not totter (fall, slip). Repetition is the way we learn knew habits, it is a process in the renewing of our minds. This sure foundation of; f or by Grace are you saved through faith , needs to be repeated as not only does it explain how we are saved but it gives us a sure foundation. Now this is not trivial teaching, indescribable Paul says, "His indescribable gift!"2 Many have fallen without firmly standing, and Satan is very active here. A su...

Walking Worthy

" In whom also you having heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, in whom also have believed you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,  " 1 Now we see and establish core elements of the mystery of Christ; hearing the Word, believing the Word, and Receiving. This Receiving can be spoken of as receiving new birth, eternal life, forgiveness, redemption, and the Holy Spirit as a guarantee of inheritance. We are adopted, into the family of God, and sealed by the Spirit of God. The eternal purpose being, this fellowship with God and the manifestation of His glory through his family, His Church. Now this word for word is logos , and it deserves close attention. It is from lego which means to lay down, properly, to say (speak), moving to a conclusion (bringing it to closure, "laying it to rest"). It is a broad term meaning "reasoning expressed by words." This fits perfectly with a meaning of faith , to be persuaded, come to trust. It i...

Come Alive

" I will put My Spirit in you, and you shall live..." 1 Say to my people says the Lord, Come alive, Israel, come alive, rise up, army of God.

Become As Little Children

" Truly, I say to you, if you do not turn and become as little children, you shall not enter the kingdom of God. " 1 This word for turn is from, strephó , properly, to turn ( transition ), often translated as convert. Some have used this as to define repentance, but in context this idea of turn has absolutely no meaning in and by itself, turn to what? and it is a conditional statement; " turn And become as little children ." Now little children sin, yes, terrible twos, so to turn from sin would not suffice. To say to become simple, like a child, I like the idea. But, to transition and become as a little child, born again, this has much more meaning. The word for become is ginomai , and signifies a change of condition, it means I come into being, am born . So it would suffice to say it means to become converted, born as a little child, or as Jesus states later, " You should not be surprised at my saying, 'You must be born again. ' " 2 ...

The Mystery Revealed

" this grace was given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, and to make all see what is the fellowship of the mystery ,"1 Picture courteous of the Father's House This mystery has been revealed, " which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God who created all things through Jesus Christ " Hidden in God in the beginning through Jesus. Jesus was with God in the beginning, he was the Word, which was with God, and was God. 2 His name is the Word of God . 3  Through Jesus all things were created in the beginning, spoken into existence. He is the author and finisher of faith, the alpha and omega, the beginning and the end. His name is the Lamb of God , who takes away the sin of the world. 4 This mystery was hidden in God since the beginning. In the beginning God created light, Jesus is the light of the world, the light was the life of men, eternal life.2 Through Jesus God has blessed us with all spiritual bl...

I Rescued The Fatherless

" I rescued the poor who cried for help, and the fatherless who had none to assist them... I put on righteousness as my clothing; justice was my robe and my turban... I was a father to the needy; I took up the case of the stranger. I broke the fangs of the wicked and snatched the victims from their teeth. " 1 " Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil. " When we stand face to face with evil we are left with a choice; will I stand firm, will I be courageous, or will I flee. Oh to be like Job,  I broke the fangs of the wicked and snatched the victims from their teeth.  I recently returned from my third visit to Ukraine, a country where its people are fighting for identity. Ukraine has paid a high price when it comes to this, during its struggles a large portion of men have paid the highest price. The Famine Monument in Kiev (see pictures) stands as an memorial to the est...

For By Grace

For by Grace (favor extended) you are (exist) saved (saved by a savior) through (across to the other side) Faith (be persuaded to trust). 1 Grace is fundamental to the gospel, this good news is brought about by God's great love for us, For by Grace. Some say we shouldn't teach Grace, people will sin if we do. Without the teaching of Grace, men will rely on their flesh to fulfill the Righteousness of God. Was not this the requirement under the old covenant? For by the Law you are saved. And the people became very good at following the Law through the flesh but their hearts were far from God and full of all kinds of uncleanliness. Jesus came in Grace and Truth, to not teach grace is to not teach truth. So what if they do sin? God wants us to be like Him, this is the object of Grace, our hearts toward him. For by Grace (motivated by love) through faith (work of God) we are saved, this is the wisdom of God. The message of Grace is, come as you are, come to the fountain of livi...

Dispensation of Grace

having predestined us for divine adoption as sons through Christ,..., to the grace of him, which has been freely given through the one beloved, in whom we have redemption through the blood of him, the forgiveness of sin, according to the riches of the grace of him, which he has lavished upon us... having made known the mystery ... 1 Paul writes that he was given a job to dispense a mystery," that is, the mystery which has been hidden from the past ages and generations, but has now been manifested to His saints ," 2  Jesus said to the disciples, "This is why I speak to them in parables: "Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand." 3  Paul prays that their eyes will be opened and writes that, " having made known to us the mystery of His will ... for the dispensation of the fullness of times... that he might gather together in one body all things in Christ, both in heaven and on earth... to be over all things to the Ch...

Righteous Requirement Met

"For powerless being the Law in that it was weak through the flesh, God of himself, His son, having sent in the likeness of flesh, of sin, and for sin, judged sin in the flesh, that the requirement of the Law should be fulfilled in us, not according to the flesh, walking but according to the Spirit ." 1 Under the new covenant, God's righteous requirement is met, His mercy triumphs His judgement. 2 This is an amazing and profound statement. The righteous requirement of the Law was met in Jesus Christ, who came in the form of human nature, of flesh and sin. He lived an indestructible life, one without sin, and he condemned or judged sin in the flesh. This word that is usually translated as condemn is katakrinó properly, judge down, i.e. issue a penalty (exactly condemn). The law was weak (from asthenḗs , without vigor or strength, living in a state of weakness.) Jesus came down to issue a penalty, to make a judgement against sin, so that the righteous requirement of t...
