Be Who You Are

therefore if you have been raised with Christ, seek the things above, where Christ exists, seated at the right hand of God. Take to thought that above, not that of the earth, for you have died and your life is laid up together of Christ in God. When Christ, your life, appears then you also will appear together with him in glory (Colossians 3:1-4) This verse is often translated as we are "hidden" in Christ. Meaning the blood of Jesus has cleansed us from all sin, like the Passover we would assume, we are covered and concealed from wrath. The word is also translated as  laid up  so lets look at it this way. I have "been raised" with Christ: and seated with Christ therefore I have been "laid up" with him, this is my identity, so therefore think on things above, who and where spiritually I am. ...and we existing dead of trespasses, [he] made us alive together with Christ, grace being saved, and raised us together with him and seated us in the heavenlies in Chr...

Beloved Children

perceive what kind of love the Father has given to us so that called children of God and so existing! (1 John3:1) To be called and exist a child of God, do you perceive? It is an astonishing thing. The Greek word for perceive  is used to express astonishment or inquiry about the nature or kind of something. Perceive is is to attain awareness or understanding. * John is using this to provoke thought or reflection of our Father's love as beloved children of God. There is a love that roots and founds us, and there is a deeper love that creates a bond that brings us into maturity. Now, know because all things work together for good, the ones loved of God, for those who are called according to his purpose, (Romans 8:28) There is much to this verse in regard to purpose, and calling, but I want to bring to your thoughts on how we did not love God but he loved us and revealed himself to us and because he loves us :all things work together for good." Before he created the world, he pr...

Guarded Through Faith

the ones in power of God guarded through faith to the extent a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time (1 Peter 1:5) We await the fullness of our salvation, the redemption of our bodies. Until then we are being guarded through faith. There is an inseparable connection between faith and the spiritual. Faith comes from the word of God (Jesus being the Word, the author and perfecter of our faith through knowledge of him) and the words of Jesus are Spirit and truth, living and active through the word and Spirit. The Spirit guides us into the truth and teaches us to abide in Jesus who is truth thus these are inseparable. Truth and faith are inseparable, the words of Jesus exist truth. The words of Jesus exist life, living bread, therefore life and truth are inseparable. Faith and love are inseparable also, as faith is energized through love as the love of God is poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who is also the guarantor of our inheritance. Therefore is an insep...

The True Story of the Widow's Giving

a poor widow approached the treasury putting in two small coins existing a mite (Mark 12:41–44) That the widow gave into the "treasury" I have never heard taught and explained. Understanding the concept of the treasury laws actually changes how I view this and how people misuse this verse. So let us look at this verse in light of the true story of the widow giving into the treasury.  The word treasury γαζοφυλάκιον ( gazophylakion , from gaza  "treasury" and phulaké  "guard") speaks of the treasury guard or watch. There were Levites assigned as guards of the temple and some were to guard the temple treasury and the gifts that had been dedicated to God (1 Chronicles 26). I have read of brass and other types of boxes used for them to put the treasury in, but giving to the treasury under guard makes sense to me.  This money was to be used for the up keep of the temple but has a spiritual significance in the new covenant we will look at later. Each adult on th...

The Purpose of Suffering

for this very thing the gospel was preached to the dead so that men judged according to fleshly men live now according to God, spiritual (1 Peter 4:6) What is the purpose of suffering? Have you ever been asked this question and were you able to answer it? If you are in Christ the scriptures have an answer, "for this very thing the gospel was preached to the dead so that men judged according to fleshly men live now according to God, spiritual." (1 Peter 4:6). We see two ways to view this, at present and in eternity. In eternity we will exist spiritual and have a redeemed body and be like Christ. At the present we await our salvation, the redemption of our body and live in a body in which sin dwells. * At the present we are alive of the Spirit, spiritual, and fleshly, and these two opposing forces work against each other. This in itself is suffering as we await the fullness of our salvation and the glorious freedom of the children of God. Suffering in this body has a purpose. ...

The Maturing Love of Christ

both to know the love of Christ surpassing knowledge so to be filled to the fullness of God (Ephesians 3:13-21) Paul writes to the church to be encouraged in his sufferings because it is for their glory (Ephesians 3:13-16). For their glory, so they are being transformed from glory to glory, so love is useful for maturing them in Christ so that they are filled to fullness of God (Ephesians 3:19). Glorification speaks of maturity, God purposed fullness in Christ when Jesus ascended on high he gives gifts to men to that children grow into fullness, into the head who is Christ (Ephesians 4: 7-16). The glory being revealed to Paul in the fellowship of the suffering of Christ in his body is being taught to us so that it is useful for our glory, to mature us. Love is such an important part of growing up, it is a maturing love of Christ. now, not only but we boast in our sufferings knowing because suffering works out endurance, and endurance proves one and proving hope, and hope doesn't sh...
