Life Exists The Light

In him exists life and the life exists the light of men (John 1:4)

We see in the Bible that God's chosen people were to be a light unto the world. Jerusalem in the Old Testament was to be a city on a hill, a light to the world. But they were not. How could his people be a light to the world if that light did not dwell in them and they did not walk in the light?

to the people that dwell in darkness a great light, and the people in the region also a shadow of death, a light dawned (Matthew 4:16)

Have you ever gone without dwelling in the light for some time? John writes, this is the message that they heard from Jesus, God is light (1 John 1:5). And being light, those who walk in the light, have fellowship with him, and the blood of Jesus cleanses them from all sin (1 John 1:6). God dealt with the separation of darkness and light through Jesus who is the light, through the gift of righteousness and new birth there is no longer a barrier, a dividing wall between God and man. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. When we walk in the light we find life.

In Him was life and that life was a light to men. We might try to find life through some other means, even through a religious system that falsely claims that life is through offerings and tithings and sacrificing. But life is not about these things it is about being in the light. Life is about being in the presence of the one who exists life; Jesus. It is like how Jesus is living bread and how he exists the vine, from him flows the fruit of life.  We must just abide in the vine and walk in the light. So let us not be busy serving like Martha and miss out on being in the presence of life.

because sowing to the extent of the flesh, from the flesh reaps correction. Now, the one sowing to the extent of the Spirit reaps everlasting life (Galatians 6:8)

We await a savior to complete our salvation, and those in Christ will live eternally. But who would want to live eternally, if there was not something that satisfies, if there were not living bread and water that satisfies the soul? Have you ever felt the emptiness inside, longing for something this world can never fill? God has set eternity in the hearts of men (Ecclesiastes 3:11). That eternity is not just about living forever but about everlasting life.

now if the Spirit that raised the one Jesus from the dead lives in you, the one raising Christ from the dead also makes alive your mortal bodies through the Spirit living in you (Romans 8:11)

It would be sad to go through this earthly life thinking that you would inherit eternal life only to find out upon your death you do know the one who exists Life. This verse tells us that even though we live in a mortal body, the life in us is greater, thus we get a glimpse of who everlasting life is, the source of life. Jesus is the Life and this life exists a light to men. This tells us the church can not be a light unto the world if it doesn't have life, abiding, dwelling, and walking in the light. The life of Christ shining through us is what the world will see as light.

Those He Calls He Equips

Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, equip you with everything good that you may do his will, working in us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen . Hebrews 13:20-21 When God calls us he equips us, the God of Peace, the one who brought us from the dead by the blood of the Eternal Covenant, will equip you so to do his will. So in this concept of being equipped, we see the calling being irrevocable. "For it is God who works in you to Will and to act on behalf of his good pleasure." Philippians 2:13 God called you, he's working in you equipping you to work on behalf of his good pleasure. "So that the man of God may be complete fully equipped for every good work." 2 Timothy 3:17 . In Hebrews 12 we read God disciplines those he loves, so that we share in his holy character, as the scriptures

He Cares About You

Casting all your anxiety on him because he cares about you (1 Peter 5:7) You know what is the secret to being able to cast your anxieties on him? Knowing that he cares for you. If you do not believe that someone cares you will not share your anxieties and burdens with them. Knowing that God cares and values you makes a difference. Look at the birds of the air; neither do they sow nor reap nor gather in storehouses, and your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than them? (Matthew 6:26-34) Birds don't sow to have seed to eat later, they don't gather food for the winter, yet God feeds them. Look at the lilies and how they grow, not toiling nor spinning. If he cares for the birds and clothes the flowers in such glory, how much more will he value and care for you? What do you have to be anxious about if you know he cares about you? If men being bad know how to give good things to their children how much more will God give good things to his children who ask.

Children of God

but as many as receiving him to them he gave the right to become children of God, the ones believing in his name, the ones born not from blood nor from fleshly will nor from a husband's will, rather from God (John 1:12-13) Something really significant happened in regard to the kingdom of God when Jesus came. When Jesus began his ministry he made this statement to Israel, " Repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand ." It is really a statement to Israel to turn, and repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Things are changing in regard to the kingdom. I truly tell you, unless a person is born from above, he is not of the kingdom of God (John 3:3) Not of the kingdom of God is the same as saying not being children of God. Being born from above is the same as saying being born from God of the Spirit. What changed significantly in the new covenant is how one enters the kingdom of God; through being born anew.  Born gain is what some translate this word as. Nicodemus certa
