Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation

I do not cease giving thanks for you making mention in my prayers that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory gives you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in knowing him (Ephesians 1:16-17)

To know him is a blessing, it is given to us to know the mysteries of the king of God.* This is what God planned in Christ before he created the world and what he is making known to us, the mystery of his will, which he set forth in Christ, as a plan for the fullness of time to bring all together in Christ.

... gives you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in knowing more of him...

Some translations translate this verse as knowing more of him. The spiritual blessings of being chosen, predestined for adoption, favored in the beloved, redeemed, and being marked as his own by the Spirit are all given to us in Christ. God is and wants to make known to us these blessings, this is a part of our identity, knowing who we are in Christ.

Paul prays that we know him, having a spirit of wisdom and revelation in knowing him, but we already know him through the blessings mentioned before, so we can say it is to know more of him. And knowing more of him is knowing more of who we are, as we are known in Christ (1 Corinthians 13:12). Knowing more of him, and who we are, makes the things of this world grow strangely dim.

A spirit of wisdom and revelation in knowing more of him enlightens the eyes of our hearts so we know the hope of our calling, the riches of his glory, our inheritance among the saints, and the greatness of his power available to us who believe. So we pray, may God give us a spirit of wisdom and revelation in knowing him so we know more of the blessings we have in him and more of who we are in him.

Those He Calls He Equips

Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, equip you with everything good that you may do his will, working in us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen . Hebrews 13:20-21 When God calls us he equips us, the God of Peace, the one who brought us from the dead by the blood of the Eternal Covenant, will equip you so to do his will. So in this concept of being equipped, we see the calling being irrevocable. "For it is God who works in you to Will and to act on behalf of his good pleasure." Philippians 2:13 God called you, he's working in you equipping you to work on behalf of his good pleasure. "So that the man of God may be complete fully equipped for every good work." 2 Timothy 3:17 . In Hebrews 12 we read God disciplines those he loves, so that we share in his holy character, as the scriptures

He Cares About You

Casting all your anxiety on him because he cares about you (1 Peter 5:7) You know what is the secret to being able to cast your anxieties on him? Knowing that he cares for you. If you do not believe that someone cares you will not share your anxieties and burdens with them. Knowing that God cares and values you makes a difference. Look at the birds of the air; neither do they sow nor reap nor gather in storehouses, and your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than them? (Matthew 6:26-34) Birds don't sow to have seed to eat later, they don't gather food for the winter, yet God feeds them. Look at the lilies and how they grow, not toiling nor spinning. If he cares for the birds and clothes the flowers in such glory, how much more will he value and care for you? What do you have to be anxious about if you know he cares about you? If men being bad know how to give good things to their children how much more will God give good things to his children who ask.

Children of God

but as many as receiving him to them he gave the right to become children of God, the ones believing in his name, the ones born not from blood nor from fleshly will nor from a husband's will, rather from God (John 1:12-13) Something really significant happened in regard to the kingdom of God when Jesus came. When Jesus began his ministry he made this statement to Israel, " Repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand ." It is really a statement to Israel to turn, and repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Things are changing in regard to the kingdom. I truly tell you, unless a person is born from above, he is not of the kingdom of God (John 3:3) Not of the kingdom of God is the same as saying not being children of God. Being born from above is the same as saying being born from God of the Spirit. What changed significantly in the new covenant is how one enters the kingdom of God; through being born anew.  Born gain is what some translate this word as. Nicodemus certa
