A Truth of Our Identity

For I do not understand my own action; for I am not practicing what I will rather I do that which I hate. Now, if I do that which I do not want to do I agree with the law that it is good. Now, at the present, no longer myself working out this rather it is sin living in me (Romans 7:15-17) We are bombarded with words all the time that you are what you think, what you eat, what you practice, what you do... Without this truth children of God would believe this lie. Now, this truth distinguishes as John writes a child from a young person and an adult, as these have found the ability, the power to overcome. This is a powerful truth that many children of God need to understand.  I am writing to you children because your sins have been forgiven... I am writing to you young person because you have overcome the evil one... I write to you children because you know the Father... I write to you young person because you are strong and the word of God abides in you and you have overcome the evi...

Power to Overcome

now the body is not for sexual immorality rather the Lord's  and the Lord's the body that now God also raising the Lord also raises us up through his power (1 Corinthians 6:13-14) Yes, there will be a resurrection of the body, we "who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies" (Romans 8:23). Thus as Hebrews 9:28 says we are awaiting our salvation and Romans 8:18-19 says the suffering of this world is light compared to the weight of glory being revealed in us, the revelation as sons of God. The Spirit is a great testimony that testifies we are his children, a Spirit of Adoption, given to those that are chosen, who are predestined for adoption (Romans 8:16; Ephesians 1:4-7). And those he adopted he predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, and these he justified, and glorifies. The Spirit is interceding for us, helping us in our weakness, to bring about the purpose of God, our gl...

Prepared For Those Loved of God

no eye has seen and no ear has heard, and no human mind has ascended to that which God has prepared for those loved of him (1 Corinthians 2:9, my translation). No one has seen with their eyes nor heard with their hears nor conceived or imagined or experienced fully that which God has prepared for those loved of him. But oh, to experience, just to see a glimpse, will change our hearts and minds and cause us to fix our eyes on Jesus who looked to that joy ahead, suffering greatly, so to lead many sons to glory.  "and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." (Galatians 2:20) Though I walk in the flesh I do not walk accordingly. I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me. I did not love God first but he first loved me. And "we are winning a most glorious victory through the one who loves us" and as Paul was convinced of His love so it is when we can say ...
