Adopted as His Own

he predestined us for adoption to the extent of his own, through Jesus Christ, according to the good pleasure of his will. * According to the good pleasure of God's will, he chose and adopted us. It is profound, to comprehend the glorious inheritance we have among the saints. God has made known to us His will, he has given us his plan, his vision and purpose in Christ, to be manifested through the Church. God has already made known his will and purpose, so unless we don't believe Paul we do not need leadership like the world to cast vision and give purpose. Since God has already given us vision and purpose what he desires is a people to do his will, to put forth his plan, that hidden in him in the beginning, to be manifested in the Church. Even before the creation of the world, we were chosen to exist holy and blameless before him in love, so he predestined us for adoption as his own. * in Christ we have obtained an inheritance, predestined according to purpose, of accom...

Pursuing Righteousness

blessed are those who pursue righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. * Looking closer at this verse we see the word διώκω ( diṓkō ) which is used positively ("earnestly pursue") and negatively ("zealously persecute, hunt down"). In each case it means pursue with all haste ("chasing" after), earnestly desiring to overtake. *  Righteousness in Christ is a gift given to us through faith. Justification brings about our righteousness and is by grace through redemption and through his blood. *  Righteousness is not from ourselves, nor from works thus it is said Christ is our righteousness. If we have obtained righteousness then why did Jesus tell us to pursue it? And why did he say seeking first the kingdom of heaven is about righteousness? Now, you man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, endurance... * Paul writes we are to pursue righteousness. Again why are we told to pursue it? If we have righteousness i...

Love Leads

for at the present moment observing through a mirror, in obscurity, now at that time face to face. At the present knowing from part, now at that time fully knowing just as also fully known. Now, at the present abiding faith, hope, love, these three. Now, of these the most important is love. * Earlier Paul writes of the gifts given to the body which are to help grow up the body in knowledge of the Son into the full measure of the statue of the image of Christ. Maturity reflects conformation to his image and the gifts are purposed for this. "Be devoted with zeal to the great gifts, now, further I show you a way accordingly going beyond." *  We desire the gifts but agape love is a way beyond, transcends. If I have the gift of tongues, prophesy, knowledge, giving, faith, and surrender my body to boast but have not love, it benefits nothing. *  Faith without agape love is dead we can say. Why is this so? And why is love the most important of these three? Agape love has no...

Working Out, For Good

because of this take up the armor of God so that powerful to stand in the evil day and working out, stand . * The word stand ἵστημι ( histēmi ) means to make to stand, to stand; cause to stand, establish, hold up; stand firm, steadfast. The implication is that I stand because God has established me. I am established to stand in a way, to battle not against flesh and blood but against leaders, authorities, world rulers of darkness, spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realm. *  Before I can stand and put on the armor of God to battle these spiritual forces I need to have been established. If I have been established I will stand, but great will be the fall if I build a foundation upon things not essential. *  Now, having worked out a firm foundation let us move on to further training. The word for "working out" κατεργάζομαι ( katergazomai ) also means to realize into practice, to effect, bring out as a result, practice. I am working out my salvation, to stand on th...

Harvest of Righteousness

And put on the new self the one created according to God in righteousness and holiness of truth. * The teachings of righteousness are very important, Jesus said that we are to put first the kingdom of God and his righteousness. *  How do we do this? Also Jesus said there is a blessing for those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, they feed and are satisfied. *  John the baptist came to show the way of righteousness. *  And who did John prepare the way for? but Jesus in whom is our righteousness. The Spirit convicts the world in regards to righteousness, in whom it is obtained, Jesus who went away to the Father. *  Let us put first righteousness in our lives, let us put on the new man, the new created in righteousness. I regard all as loss through the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my lord through whom that all also regard dung so that gaining Christ and found in him not having a righteousness mine that from laws rather that through Christ...

Chosen To Be Like Jesus

the one blessing us in every spiritual blessings in the heavenlies in Christ, just as choosing us in Him before founding the world to exist holy and in his presence in love. * Paul writes this was purposed, the mystery of His will purposed in Christ so that all things in heaven and on earth, are brought into fullness in Christ, according to His will. * " In Christ we have obtained a portion, predestined upon, a purpose that accomplishes all upon the counsel of his will, to the extent we, of hope in Christ existing to the praise His glory ." *  How do we exist the praise of His glory? Paul writes, when we hear the word of truth, the gospel of our salvation and believe, we are marked with the Holy Spirit, which is a pledge of our inheritance until God takes possession of His own, to the praise of his glory. *  According to that purposed in Christ we receive adoption, redemption, forgiveness. For a purpose, we are chosen, to be loved and to be like Him. Chosen Predest...
