Come Home

Not indeed will I dare speak anything except of what Christ has accomplished through me, for the submissiveness of the Gentiles by word and deed . 1 My friend Shelby was a true hobo. This is an amazing thing in this age but he would hop trains traveling around the country. He had the mindset of child, not unintelligent but uneducated, not knowing how to read or write, and he had a child's innocence. He was also an alcoholic. He came to our town under a bridge to die. He was what is considered a chronic homeless person, also a chronic alcoholic, when he was in the hospital they would sneak beer into him because he could not go without alcohol for two hours without getting the shakes. I met Shelby under the bridge where many homeless would come. For many of them it was a last stop and most I have become friends with have passed. Shelby would come to church with me, at first people were somewhat acceptable of this but eventually they started adding rules; they might give us di...

Christ Alone; Cornerstone

This is the stone, rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone. Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved . 1 My hope is built on nothing less Than Jesus blood and righteousness I dare not trust the sweetest frame But wholly trust in Jesus name When Darkness seems to hide His face I rest on His unchanging grace In every high and stormy gale My anchor holds within the veil Christ alone; cornerstone Weak made strong; in the Saviour's love Through the storm, He is Lord Lord of all His oath, His covenant, His blood Support me in the overwhelming flood When all around my soul gives way He then is all my Hope and Stay Christ alone; cornerstone Weak made strong; in the Saviour's love Through the storm, He is Lord Lord of all When He shall come with trumpet sound, Oh, may I then in Him be found; Dressed in His righteousness alone, Faultless stand before t...

Wisdom Of God

It is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the learned and the understanding of the intelligent, I will make nought . 1 Where is the wisdom of this world? God has made it nought; did away with; reject what is already laid down; set aside; nullify, make void; to break faith; remove out of an appointed place, i.e. reject as invalid; refuse to respect (even "despise"); to cancel, disannul, abrogate (passive, "be set aside" because perceived to lack value); to disregard, pass over (refuse to acknowledge). 2  The world through wisdom did not know God so it pleased God through the foolishness ( folly; literally, dull (lacking sharpness)) of the preaching (proclamation,  especially its fundamentals ) to save those who believe (have  faith in, trust in, be persuaded ). 3   Christ crucified is a stumbling block to the Jews and foolishness to the Gentiles. God chose the foolishness of the gospel, to make annul the wisdom of man, so that man would not glorify in hims...

Word of God Speak

For the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world .1 Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him. But what works must we do to be saved?  This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.  Moses gave us manna, what sign do you do? God gave you manna from heaven.  For the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world. Give us this bread always. I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst. 3 This bread is His flesh. This bread is living word. As written in the prophets, they will be taught by God. This word of God came down from heaven, he dwelt among us, in the beginning he was with God, was God. He created all things, his words are life. This is He who came down from heaven. These words are liv...

Jesus Loves Me

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand . 1   God upholds us with his righteous hand. Others trust in the strength of their own hands, but for God's people he strengthens, helps, and upholds them. It is truly not our righteousness or strength that we trust in. For God holds our right hand; it is He who says, Fear not, I am the one who helps you. 2  God's servant came not crying aloud, lifting up his voice, so as to be heard in the streets but He came to establish the law, justice on earth. 3  He called his people in righteousness and took them by the hand, to establish a new covenant with them, a light for the nations. To establish justice; to open the eyes of the blind, to free the prisoners from darkness.  The former things have come to pass, and new things I now declare. 4   For He so loved the world, ...
